It's your Vcore or Qpi/Vtt causing Prime errors not the memory timings, try raising those and see how you get along.

Remember you can raise these and test while in windows so no need to reboot many time, use Easytune

I did this before when I clocked straight up to 3.8Ghz

All my testing now is @ stock. Should I really be needing higher volts for 2.66Ghz?

I'll fire up the system shortly and try but I am beginning to think that something is wrong somewhere. I can't afford to buy another CPU or RAM for testing.

If you are talking QPI/Vtt yes, this does not matter what the clock speeds are, this will need to be set to a certain amount depending on memory settings, uncore, and QPI regardless of clock speeds.

I will give things another try tomorrow. I'm sure that I had the QPI/Vtt setting set very high when trying for a stable 3.8Ghz clock.

Thanks for your help Lsdmeasap, please don't take my post above as being a moan at you. I'm just fed up at the moment (work is too busy and budgets are being cut).

If I try upping volts again, what levels would be the safest maximums to hit for each settings?

1.3v-1.5v is safe, imo i try too keep below 1.45v,unless you clock above 4ghz which higher would be needed

You are fine, I didn't think anything like that :)

Just don't let this get you upset, keep at it when you are not frustrated and you will get it!

QPI/Vtt may need to be 1.3-1.5+ depending on your memory and all other settings.

Vcore may need 1.25-1.45 (Actual) depending on your settings, but it would be best as low as you can get it of course.
