i cant say 100% that it is the psu,but from other users ive seen using an ocz psu they had reboots sometimes the os wouldnt even boot up and they fixed it by switching to another psu,if you buy one mail order in the uk you have 7 days to file an rma and you can return it for a full refund, that would be the best option incase it doesnt fix it,i know that Overclockers UK and Computer Supplies and PC Components from Novatech will do this....try to avoid ocz and zalman psu's,mines just a cheapo branded one from ebay 46 but it works fine

EDIT: its 7 days to return read the policy

3.Under the Distance Selling Regulations (2000) you have the right to cancel the contract relating to your order at any time up to the end of 7 working days after the goods are delivered. To exercise your right of cancellation, you must give written notice to Overclockers UK by letter, fax or RMA WebNote giving details of the goods ordered and date received. Notification by phone is not acceptable. If you exercise your right of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations (2000) after the goods have been delivered to you, you will be responsible for returning the goods to Overclockers UK at your own cost. The Distance Selling Regulations (2000) places a duty on you to take reasonable care of the goods once you have exercised your right to cancel. Returned items must be packaged properly and shipped in a plain outer box. Please try to include all internal packaging, cables, manuals, drivers and protective bags, however small. Overclockers UK will refund you within 30 days for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit or debit card for the goods

^^that way you can try the psu and send it back for full refund if it doesnt work

yes but the most expensive/powerfull isnt always the best, anything from 700w upwards would be more than enough

    Hey guys,

So I went out last night and I thought Id leave my comp doing memtest just to make sure nothing was wrong with the RAM....sure enough when I had got back it had picked up 9 errors after doing 3 cycles....it had frozen on this when I got back to it....

Could this still be the PSU or is it most likely the RAM?

    Attachment 2636

    Thanks guys :)

is your system running? can you boot into windows/are you using the pc or wont it get that far?? if its just ram errors then its probably wrong bios settings or faulty ram,if its not letting you even get into windows then it could be psu

it could be a bios issue with your ram, updating bios might fix it

Yea Im quite sure I am using the latest BIOS for my board...

Do you think I need to RMA my RAM?

i cant say for sure, did you try with just one stick installed in the first white slot from cpu socket??? try with each stick in first white slot and see if you get any errors then,if you dont then its probably ram,i still think it could be your psu,as the memory controller is in the cpu itself and if it wasnt getting quite enough power it would give you ram errors and wont boot up/let you install windows
