Im running the FB11 Beta bios, at first it looked promising in Bios recognizing 6gb right away after flashing and reset. After setting the raid configs and resetting it went back to recognizing 4gb. One more reset, then i set the memory timings, VTT to 1.3v, DRAM to 1,6v. I also encountered 1 BSOD but it was iastor.sys, propably a corrupted file in the RAID drivers or something.

Thing is, this beta bios brought the "Recover DRAM Size"-feature, which led my computer to repeatedly reset it self after POST just before the point of loading windows. A couple minutes of that and after it would load to Windows, but still in the task manager i can only see 4093mb of physical memory, 3094mb in cache, 81mb as free.

Oh why did i choose Gigabyte over Asus...always had Asus with only minor issues... :(

Yep, Rev2.0. Well i downloaded the latest bios straight from Gigabytes site, and that was FB11. GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) - GIGABYTE. Cant think of a better place to get the latest one?

you need to double and tripple check your cpu socket, two users who have had the very same problem have fixed there missing ram by discovering and straightening a bent cpu socket pin so you need to check, even if its slightly bent it will cause problems

if you do find a bent pin and dont have the confidence to straighten it then you need to rma it for repair

Just as it did with my UD5.. i've spent countless hours previously trying to figure this out and come to find out a little bios update could fix it. Well at least it's solved

Using FB16 now, i dont think anythings changed since last BIOS, except for that overclocking/voltage error message. Cant change those settings now, propably have to reflash. Anyways, 4gb still here so issue persists. I need to buy new batteries for my camera so i can take more pictures from the MB socket. Funniest thing is i only get Bios to recognize 6gb when i have just flashed the BIOS, no matter what settings i change, ie. putting Raid on and disabling useless sata controllers, it goes back to 4gb.

    What a drag.

I would also like to add that i dont believe my issue has to do with hardware. It must have something to do with software or BIOS, since everytime i have flashed the BIOS, i could instantly see 6gb of ram registered and in use, but after changing settings or just booting it has all gone back to 4gb. And it stays there. And the fact that this is happening MOSTLY on Gigabytes boards just makes it even more propable.

Like i wrote earlier - flash FB16 with option to delete DMI pool data. After that restart, go into BIOS, Load Optimized settings, save&exit, reenter BIOS, then set voltages as written before, also set memory timings manualy as expert setting. Enter first 4 (9-9-9-24, everything else on auto) save&exit. Reenter BIOS, set SATA, save&exit.
When you see Verifying DMI pool data there will be new line saying that it is saving new DMI pool data. I think that that way you should have all 6GB. Follow these steps strict or it won't work.
If it is working, leave BIOS setting alone or else you will have do this all over again.
