    Cool.. I will post those asap. I have just order the G.Skill PC28500/1066 Mhz, and via express shipping and it will be available tomorrow. I will take note of those steps and post it here. I would love to tweak my system for significantly better performance without overclocking my cpu speed. :D

    If you are not using a fairly recent bios, getting your system stable might be more difficult.
    It's important to run several tests when new hardware is installed, such as:
    Memtest86+ (ver: 4.1 or later)
    Intel BurnTest (IBT) or LinX
    Prime95 (Blend Test) and ideally small FFT and large FFT tests.

    From your mobo user manual:
    [F10] Save all the changes and exit the BIOS Setup program
    [F11] Save CMOS to BIOS
    [F12] Load CMOS from BIOS

    The Functions of the <F11> and <F12> keys (For the Main Menu Only)
    F11 : Save CMOS to BIOS
    This function allows you to save the current BIOS settings to a profile. You can create up to 8
    profiles (Profile 1-8) and name each profile. First enter the profile name (to erase the default profile
    name, use the SPACE key) and then press <Enter> to complete.
    F12 : Load CMOS from BIOS
    If your system becomes unstable and you have loaded the BIOS default settings, you can use this
    function to load the BIOS settings from a profile created before, without the hassles of reconfiguring
    the BIOS settings. First select the profile you wish to load, then press <Enter> to complete.

    1. Use F11 to save your current bios settings and give the saved profile a meaningful name, such as Old-Defaults.
    2. Exit the bios and turn off your system.
    3. Turn off your psu using the psu switch on the back of the psu.
    4. Press and hold the front panel on/off switch for 15 seconds to discharge your system.
    5. Install only one memory module in memory slot #1 (closest to the cpu).
    6. Power on your system and immediately enter the bios.
    7. Load Optimized defaults from the bios main menu.
    8. Press F10 to save settings and exit, which will reboot your system.
    9. Enter the bios and press [Ctrl] + F1.
    10. Re-apply all previous settings from all bios sections, except for the M.I.T section.
    11. Enter the M.I.T. section.
    12. Use the recommended (manual) settings in this post, even though you're not overclocking your system.
    13. See the end of this post for MCH Core voltage settings and memory speed settings.
    14. Return to the main bios menu and press F11 to save your new bios settings to using another profile name, don't use the same profile "slot".
    15. Press F10 to apply these settings and exit.
    16. Turn off your system when the post or logo screen appears, and repeat the psu switch/discharge steps.
    17. Install the second memory module in slot #3.
    18. Turn on your system and immediately boot to Memtest86+ using a bootable CD/DVD or floppy.
    19. Run Memtest86+ for at least 4 - 8 full passes, the first pass will take about 20 minutes to complete and the remaining passes will take about 40 minutes each to complete.

    If there are any reported errors, note the test number and pass number that generated the error(s).

    note: some/many overclocked systems using your G.Skill 2x2GB F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK memory are not stable unless MCH Core = 1.05 is used.

    Food for thought:
    7.5 x 400 (FSB) = 3.0GHz, memory can be run at 800MHz or 960MHz.
    Running your cpu at 3.60GHz (9.0 x 400) is a modest 20% overclock and is easy to get stable once your stock setup is okie-dokie.
    These or higher o/c settings can be tried later. Overclocks up to about 4.0GHz or higher take a bit more work. ;)

    Fan: Install extra 2 1200w Fan on the front near HD and on the back

    Just some quick questions and clarifications

    Do i need to do those steps now with my current RAM or after i receive my G.Skill 1066 MHz RAM?

    For the MCH core, you did mention to set it to 1.20 for 2x2gb ram, should i set it 1.20 or 1.05 for my g.skill?

    Should i increase my DRAM Voltage ------------ 1.800V ------- : [Auto] <--- set to the max rated ram voltage (for most memory)? The G.Skill spec said that it need to run on 2.0 to 2.1 v? Or i just stick on 1.8v?

    So, after these settings my cpu will run at 3.60 GHZ, stable and without overclocking? And will my CPU get hot easily? I don't have any liquid cooler other than 2 Coolermaster 120mm 1200 rpm install in front and back of my huntkey H401 case. There's a default Fan and heat sink for the cpu though.

    You can make the bios changes using your current memory, but you don't want to boot with your new bios settings and using your old memory.

    I'll SWAG it on the initial MCH Core setting, set it to 1.20 volts.

    Yes, set DRAM Voltage = 2.10 volts, otherwise you'll need to set 5-5-5-15 primary memory timings for 800MHz.
    Running with 1066MHz memory speeds might give somewhat better memory performance in some games or memory intensive applications.

    Using the recommended settings will run your system at stock 3.0GHz speeds for now.

    3.60GHz is overclocking your cpu by 20% and we can try this at a later time.
    Running with 7.5 x 400MHz is a pseudo-overclock where your cpu is running at stock speeds, but you'll have some improved overall performance.

    I'm concerned with the cpu core temps in your screen-shot if your system was at idle.
    If you had Prime95 or another intensive task running in the background, this probably isn't an issue.
    At idle, your core temps should around 35 - 40 (C) unless your cpu has a really bad case of stuck sensors.
    Unless you have unusually high room temperatures (higher than 30 C), it looks like your stock Intel heat-sink/fan isn't properly seated. You might want to disable to automatic cpu fan speed control in your bios to see if this helps.

    Let's make sure your system is stable at stock cpu speeds for now.
    The good stuff can come later.

    This is the coretemp that i screenshot after leaving my pc idle for 15 mins



    Is this bad, how should i improve it if it's bad?

    For the bios setting, i think i will wait for my G.skill to come tomorrow and set the bios setting. I am quite interested in overclocking 20% of my cpu to 3.60 Ghz and quite stable. Well as you said, the good stuff can come later. I will set my bios after i receive my RAM tomorrow and post again.

    The cpu core temps are are a bit high for a system at stock settings.

    Make sure that the rear fan is exhausting hot air out the back and that the front fan is drawing in air from the room.
    In the bios PC Health Status section, change CPU Smart FAN Control from ENABLED to DISABLED. This will run your cpu fan at full speed at all times.

    If this doesn't help, you should verify that the cpu heat-sink is fully seated. If you remove the heat-sink, you'll need to clean the thermal material from the cpu and heat-sink and then re-apply the proper amount of T.I.M.

    If worse comes to worse, you can remove the side panel and set up a desk fan to blow room air into the case to see if that helps.
    Can you mount an additional fan on the case side panel?

    There's no problem with running your system at stock speeds with your new memory.
    A 20% overclock is usually OK with the stock cooling setup, but your system would run hotter than it should if we proceed with an overclock.

    If one of your fans is hooked up to the SYS_FAN2 header, that fan is probably only spinning at half speed, possibly less.
    You can connect to the SYS_FAN1 or PWR_FAN header to have your fan running at full speed.

    If your room temperature is 25 (C) or less, your core temps are ~ 5 or more degrees hotter than they should be.

    Did you ever run IBT, LinX, Prime95, or OCCT stress tests with your current setup?
    We don't want to risk possible data/file corruption.

    Hi profJim,

    I am not running anything like IBT,Linx or OCCT. I am kinda new to overclocking. My room temp is kinda around 20(c).. Not sure why my cpu runs at 45-50(c).

    I can't install any case side fan, i have checked my fan, cool air come in from front bottom to cool my HD and hot air out at back of my pc case.

    I am gonna restart and check my PC health bios setting.

    If i am going to overclock at 20% of my cpu, is this going to be a problem? Or should i check the heat sink? I am noob on that
