    Post EP45-UD3P KHX8500D2T1K2/4G 8GB RAM Problem

Hello, I recently upgraded to 8GB of RAM and have wasted countless hours trying to configure the right voltage in BIOS. Does anyone out there have this particular set of mobo and RAM that can post their BIOS settings? I've also tested that 6GB of RAM works with the default BIOS settings.

In general, 8GB of ram will require:
    1) DRAM Voltage set to the maximum rated voltage for your ram, possibly 0.02 volts higher
    2) MCH Core Voltage = 1.28 - 1.32 volts
If you'll provide the information in this post, steps 1 - 4, we can better help you with any other needed bios settings.

** edit ** tRFC = 68 - 76 will probably be required. Start with the highest value. If your system passes extended stability testing, this setting might be able to be lowered.

Sound advice above, thanks Profjim :)

Also set Performance Enhance to Standard, and you may want to set tRD to 8-9 for now if you are at 333 FSB, 9 if you are above that

Hi Guys, sorry it took me a while to respond back. I was hospitalized for a week and couldn't get the specs for my PC. Before I start listing it all, I'd like to say, "thanks" and that I've discovered something about my motherboard. This morning I've decided to test RAM slot #2 and it turned out that it's not reading correctly. Here's what I did; previously I had 3 sticks of RAM in slots 1,3, and 4 reading just fine with stock settings (6GB total). Today, with slots 1, 2, and 3 with RAM, it's reading 4 GB total with the same settings. So, before we get into this whole mess I'm already thinking about replacing the motherboard. I think I'm going to thoroughly test RAM slot #2 by itself later on today to confirm if it's a faulty slot. Thoughts? Thanks again.

Board revision 1.0 with BIOS FA?
For rev. 1.6 latest is FE and for 1.0/1.1 F10, both list memory enhancements.

Try booting with only 2 memory modules, using memory slots 1 & 3.
Boot info windows and provide the screen-shot from step #4 in the linked to post in post #2.
Your posted bios settings show that you haven't applied any recommended voltage changes.
    Be sure to set:
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) ---------- : [100]
    Extreme Memory Profile --- (X.M.P.) --- : Standard
    MCH Core ---------------- 1.100V ------- : [1.20] <-- only for 2x2GB, 1.28 might be needed for 8GB

Let us know how your memory slot #2 testing goes.

**edit** can you borrow some 800 or 1066 memory to test with?

I'm with Chike, please update your BIOS before we go any further.

    Here is the latest BIOSes

And here is a guide, please use Qflash or DOS, DO NOT USE @BIOS!!

Does anyone have an answer to this? I just bought extra RAM for the same mobo and RAM (total 8GB). I keep getting a BSOD during a Windows 7 Ultimate installation. I think it's due to bad timing for the RAM. The bios is updated with the latest from Gigabyte and set to optimal factory settings. Any ideas?
