    Default Q6600 + ep45

    Hi!

    Im trying to OC my Q6600 for the first time (yeah, im 2 years late!) and have gone to 3.2ghz pretty easily.

    I have left all voltages on auto, set my ram timings at 5-5-5-15 (stock) and I am running 8x400 fsb. Prime is running and im reading 61-ish degrees with a Zalman 9700.

    What I am wondering is, where do I go now? I have a feeling I could go further, but im not comfortable messing with the voltages too much without a bit of advice. When I started windows CPU-Z said 1.44v on the cores, but running Prime I get a bit lower readings. What gives?

    I know all these questions have been answered a million times and im reading all threads I can, but I still hope someone wants to help a newbie =)

    Please quickly get voltages off auto or remove your overclock :)

    Vtt and Vcore will get set way to high if you leave them in auto

    Vcore always drops from what you set in the BIOS, this is called Vdrop. Then again it drops from idle to load, this is called Vdroop (To lessen this one you must enable LLC in the BIOS)

    Please give us a link to your memory or the model # and then we can advise you some settings.

    Maybe 3.4 would be fairly easy for ya

    Dropped off auto voltage and trying to find the lowest possible setting.

    You need to get stable, or situated where you want at least, before you worry about low voltages :)

    These settings are working nice at the moment. Prime is running and CPU is @ 59 degrees.

    Edit: seems I was a bit too fast. Prime crashed after about 20 mins.

    After taking the the voltage up another notch Prime seems to have stopped crashing. Temps are still below 60 degrees.

    I am a bit confused on the suggestion you made me, Lsd, since I dont have those overvoltage settings in my BIOS but rather the manual ones.

    Im gonna try out for 3.4 without touching the volts and see what happens!

    Sorry, I did not realize that I posted a blank P35 template above the one I meant for you to use.

    I edited it out, just the lower template that was all filled out was all I intended for you to use.

    See post above again, same settings just removed the empty P35 template.

    After trying your suggested settings @ 3.4ghz at ALOT of different voltages I concluded that 3.2 is my goal. I wasnt able to boot let alone run any tests.

    Sigh, still crashing after about 15 minutes. Any suggestions? Tried different voltages but nothing seems to help.

    Maybe you could change the drive strength profile back to 800?
