Hey LCD spent 5 min doing option 2, it rebooted over 20 times and nothing. Will have to try for option 1.

try this, wait for it to start this neverending boot sequence, and wait just 1-2 seconds before it would restart on its own, but don't let it, do it yourself by the swithch off button on PSU, press the power button while it is still switched off. and then boot again. try shortening this interval in either directions and beat it to it, don't let it restart on its own. repeat.

option 1 didn't work either!!! OMG what a day $380 board fried =(

Will try your option Yuu! Tried it and nothing.

If I hold clear cmos button on the board it starts up and keeps going but I don't see anything on the screen...... so it's another fail attempt.

you must persist, the idea is to not let it think that clock is stable, the only way is to interrupt it before it thinks that, so that next time it boots without clock., it happent to me many times. fixed it that way.

i assume you flashed without the overclock then? it is the safest way, but who knows.

Do not hold clear cmos while PSU is on, it will fry the bios, maybe that is what you want?. it is unly meant to be shorted while PSU =OFF

Option 1 can't fail really, are you positive you are shorting pins 4+7 ONLY?

Do that, let it reboot, and keep holding and on the next reboot screen you should you see the boot screen then let go

What are you doing this with, if it is not something small enough you may be touching other pins

The above will work also if you can time it right, but option one is fool proof if you are doing it right

yea never touched any other pins. I have also discovered that if I hold down the reset button while it restarts it loads and keeps going. but as soon as I let it go it turns off. But there is nothing on the screen there is a signal there but no post screen.

Just noticed that there is a LED light on the motherboard ACPI LED's S4/5 is on. Not sure if this makes a difference.

Those LEDs on is normal. Can you please verify that your GFX card is still working? Test in another machine I mean, just to be sure.

Ok just a question if gigabyte cannot fix the mobo what happens then? The P45 isn't available in stores anywhere, the only chipsets available are G41 and EP41... What board what you recommend getting? Just im case there is no fix?

    cheers
