    Default Please Help me finish of Q9550 O/C

    Howdy people

    I have had this chip for a while and decided it's time to O/C it. So far I have taken it to 3.91 which I am VERY happy with and don't see the need to go any further.

    The only thing is the RAM timings, I just feel that they are TOO loose and the system just doesn't feel snappy like before.

    Static is set to 9 I have tried to lower it to 8 and it wouldn't boot, that is the reason for this post this part just goes over my head..

    Performance level that P45 can achieve is 9 (>400Fsb; 1:1; Cas 5)

    If you used Cas4, or had a P35 chipset, the Perf. level of 8 is the thing you get for free. but not with P45.

    you can however set to Extreme performace mode, that will drop 2 ns in everest and will give you the sensation of performance level of ~8.5, but it comes at a price, MCH core needs to be +0.2V, since you already did that, there is no better.

    With standart or turbo enhance there is no ammount of mch core voltage on this world that will get you the tRD 8.

    Set MCH core voltage to 1.2-1.28 and you should have better luck

    Which 2.00 are you using 2.00B or 2.00D? If D you will have to use 9 likely for tRD

    Ok I managed to get it to load in windows but PRIME fails in 5-7 min...

    Getting rounding to .5 error

    Tried setting MCH to 1.3 and it would load at all, might have to leave it as 2.00d

    Tried upping vcore to 1.406 did help a little but still failed Prime, it seems that the ram settings are conflicting somewhere no matter how much Vcore

    Some memory will not easily work on B multi's when you are using above 400 FSB, so you might have to stick with D multi's and tRD 9

    If i leave the ram Timings on Auto it sets them as 5 6 6 23 which is poo but 2.00B works, 5 5 5 15 don't work.

    In that case I could raise the FSB to 4ghz and leave it on 2.00d tr9

    tried upping the FSB to 4ghz. Left the settings as they were and system loads in windows and operates fine. But fails Prime in 5 min.

    Any settings that could help to stabilize the 4ghz. vcore is at 1.4 but in CPU-Z it sits at 1.34 under load. Temps are not a problem.

    I need to see your full settings to help really, but for now I can say that is a HUGE Vdroop

    Set LLC to level 1 (or enabled if that is your only option) in the BIOS, then Vcore wont be so low under load.

    There is no LLC on this board dont worry, I set 1.25 in bios and it is 1.15V in cpuz. it is normal.

    You should stay 100Mhz below whatever number passes infinite number of intelburntest loops, in this case 3800-900Mhz is safe. It is less time consuming. To try and find at what thershold the oc is being limited by every single voltage, and their many combinations, because it matters. you have VTT limit, Pll limit, Dram, CPu and what not, in combination with the exact references to support the right clock. Better use Intelburntest v2.50 set to 200MB size, many 100000 loops, every loop will popup every 5 seconds, signalig error or success(is also error), and the same time slightly adjust voltages with easy tune with +-0.02 increments, wait few loops before next slider move apply. try to find your settings really fast by adjusting in real time. occasionaly the system will freeze or reboot, keep intelburn running.
