Most 120mm fans are 25mm thick. Scythe has a 12mm thick, 120mm fan but I think that the airflow is not nearly as high as 1200 - 1600 rpm fans.
To verify how much side panel clearance you currently have, you can make a small paper box that is 3/4 - 1 inch tall and tape it to the inside of your side panel. Carefully install the side case panel to see if it touches the top of your cpu cooler.

I think that the heat spreaders on your Ascent memory modules are about 1/4 inch taller than memory modules where the heat spreader is about the same height as the memory's pcb (circuit board).

Actually I may reconsider those fans. They seem to be quite popular with this cooler. I may well order a pair of them and this cooler. I'll decide tomorrow and go from there. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Keep in mind that there are many cpu case lighting kits available, cold cathode, LED or UV (ultra violet).

Good luck, let us know how you make out.

It looks like it will clear my side fan, not a lot of difference between 124 mm and 130. That is without fans though. Now I have to wonder if it will fit with a Mushkin Ascent module in the first RAM slot. What width fan are people using with these? I have checked out some more reviews of this cooler and it looks hard to beat.
You won't have any issues with memory slots as long as you use 25 mm thick fans, if you use 38 mm thick fans then you will need to use low memory modules.

Sounds like the OP is excited
Damn the memory slots, go with the Delta "Mega Fast" 120mm x 38mm Fan - 252 CFM push/pull setup if your psu can dish out 96 watts (total) for both fans

Just remember to buy fans with some static pressure, don't look at only CFM numbers. I for example have these Scythe fans as case fans : Slip Stream 120 PWM Adjustable: Scythe EU GmbH
As case fans those are real nice but on Megahalems they are useless because of missing static pressure. If I was buying new fans at the moment I would probably get these with Akasa PWM splitter : Akasa Thermal Solution

The OP has followed my hardware recommendations in this thread.
I'm pretty sure that he won't consider even one of the Delta fans.

The Scythe S-Flex fans are highly rated, but you won't find static pressure statistics on the Scythe website.
I don't know if any S-Flex fan reviews provide the pressure statistics.
The attached chart is from one of the threads in the Scythe Forum.

BTW, the specs for the Delta fan:
    Max. Airflow: ---------- 252.85 CFM
    ------------------------- 7.160 m^3/min
    Max. Air Pressure: ------- 1.412 IN H2O
    ------------------------ 35.877 mm H2O
    Noise: ----------------- 66.5 dBA

@mm67, your posts in this thread are excellent.

That Delta sure has some static pressure but maybe a little bit excessive :)

You might find this thread to be helpful if you are buying the Megahalems.
