Default Doctor, I think I have a fever but I don't know what my temperature really is!

So which one of the thermal monitoring programs really is the most accurate to tell me what my core temps really are? I'm running CPUID Hardware Monitor and Core Temp, and they never match up. What am I missing here? Is there some "best" monitoring software I need to get?

I find real temp to be the best. It is updated the most.

Core temp or Real Temp will show correct Core temps, Everest Ultimate will as well

I think that is true for newer cpu's, but I have one old E6300, B2 stepping, and each of those 3 programs shows core temps differently. There seems to be several opinions about that chips Tjmax temperature.

Well in each one you can set your own TJmax, so if you set them all the same they should be fairly close, real temp aside as you need to configure it before using.

That's true, nobody just seems to know the correct Tjmax. That's why Realtemp is most useful with that chip because you can at least see the distance to Tjmax even if it is not possible to know exact temperature.

Yes, I've seen that, there is also an update on the same site which says that info is useless

    Oh!

Sorry, I thought I remembered hearing something like that too but couldn't remember where.

Well as long as you keep things under 80C you should be fine, I know unclewebb has ran many CPU's at 100C for extended periods and nothing happened except throttling

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I'm working on Real Temp now.
