I will attempt to set up a RMA for the RAM kit today.

I was thinking of switching brands, but the first RMA took so long that now I am past the 30 day return date.

Although to their credit, the one good stick seems awesome; it runs 1333 stable even at 1.5V.

The thing is, if another piece of hardware is faulty, I would like to troubleshoot it before having to send the RAM back and wait another month before resuming testing.

looks to me that the first two sticks were bad,and now your left with one good and one bad stick, try to return just the one bad stick, you will be able to run your pc in single channel with one stick while you wait on a replacement

Wish I could, but the memory is paired.
First time was only one bad stick as well, but they still required I send back both.

This is normally how you have to do it, send both back.

Are you dealing with a store/shop still or now with the manufacturer? If you are still dealing with a shop maybe you can get them to refund you instead, or switch brands/models for you since this one appears to not be such a hot product.

I am dealing with ocz now. The first RMA took long enough to push past newegg's return date. Or I probably would return for a different brand.

The one stick ran 22 rounds without a single error, so they can make good RAM. But just getting 2 in the same kit seems more difficult than expected.

Still confused as to why I am getting prime95 errors though. There must be a setting that I need to adjust or another component that is faulty. Could it be the OS is improperly installed? ( I installed it when I was using the 2 previously faulty kit)

Ya, 2 sets with one DOA is not good odds

Prime85 errors could be any of your settings, is this with the one good stick only? Are you setting your own QPI/Vtt and Ram voltages, if not please do try 1.15-1.2 QPI and set ram to spec voltage, also disable XMP and set the settings yourself manually.

OS should be fine, but you could run checkdisk to be sure

Yep, just with the good stick. QPI is at 1.21 and Ram voltage is at 1.66.

I dont recall seeing how to disable XMP anywhere in the BIOS though.

Also, I ran, the prime95 "small fft" test and it went for 2 hours with not a single error.
Seems like the CPU is fine.

XMP would be above your memory multi, but your memory may not have it and if that is the case it would not be shown.

Ya, sounds like everything is fine you just need a working set of memory

So is it possible that I need 2 sticks of Ram for prime95 to report no errors?
