Let me ask this: Would there be considerable heat difference when the computer is running memtest vs. running windows? Keep in mind most of the reboots happen when the computer is not being used (not sleeping...the screen is just off and I am away from the computer) and I have not installed a game on the computer yet.

I say reboots but what I really mean is the sytem reboots itself b/c it has encountered a critical error. At least that is what windows tells me when I log back in.
Maybe it's a virus or something? Yes heat would be different when running memtest vs windows idle, the CPU would be hotter as would the memory

I ordered a new power supply today. When I get it in I will reinstall windows, let windows manage drivers for the chipset and video card. Let you all know how it goes.

Anyone else have any ideas please let me know.

    @lsdmeasap - Would a virus affect memtest?

No, if you mean Memtest86+ it is ran from DOS so a virus or anything like that in windows would not be running yet

UPDATE - Now my dvd burner has no power.

Order of events - Bought the corsair tx650 psu. I installed the new PSU yesterday. Updated the bios to F11 (load optimized, save, adjust other bios settings), Ran memtest for a few hours and received no errors, installed windows 7 64bit, let windows manage ALL drivers, installed all updates for windows 7 and installed ms security essentials. Late last night I installed the latest EasyTune from gigabyte so I could monitor temps (system was mid to upper 30's and CPU was low 40's). This morning I restarted my computer and entered the bios. When I pressed "del" to enter bios the system hung for about 8 seconds then went into the bios (it is usually pretty instantaneous). Looked through the bios to double check all of my settings. All was good so I didn't change anything. Rebooted and since my boot order is usb, cd-rom, hdd, the system hung during the "boot from cd" dialog. I thought that was wierd so I hit the eject button on my dvd burner and it would not eject. I changed the the boot order and put the hdd in front of the cd-rom and the system boots fine. During ide detection during post the bios does report the dvd rom as being there and sometimes it does not.

I am going to check the PSU by trying a different plug and try resetting my cmos. Any other thoughts?

UPDATE TO THIS POST - I reseated the sata and power connections to the drive and all works fine again. Kinda wierd.

You may want to go into BIOS and Load Optimized defaults save Exit and reboot. Then go back into BIOS and add 0.2v to DDR memory 0.2v+1.8v=2.0v then save exit and reboot. See if that helps.

    @ artdrivers

I just restarted my computer and when it rebooted it failed to see the dvd drive again. I loaded optimized, saved, exited and adjusted the memory timings and few other things. I saved and exited again. Computer does not see the DVD drive. Computer was previously running, actually since the update to my post #34, i have used my dvd drive to install office. Anytime I reboot my computer I lose power to the DVD drive. However, if I turn the computer off then restart then everything is still fine. Any ideas?

exited and adjusted the memory timings and few other things.
May I ask what the few other things you changed in BIOS? Did you change anything in Integrated Perephrials? Did you change the boot order?
Is your DVD drive a SATA DVD drive? If it is you will want to plug the SATA-DATA cable into the SATAII_4or5 port. Also put the SATAII hard drive on SATAII_0

Thanks. It is a SATA drive. I will give that a shot.

    I was configured as such:

    SATAII-0 : Boot drive
    SATAII-1 : Second drive
    SATAII-2 : No drive
    SATAII-3 : DVD drive
    SATAII-4 : No drive

Also, would you still recommend I install the latest ATI video driver from ATI? I noticed one of the first updates for the computer was an updated Radeon 4670 driver from microsoft. I have not installed any of the drivers from gigabyte.

Leave boot order on default for now. Do you have a floppy? If not disable it in BIOS for now.
    Code:
    Standard CMOS Features
    Date (mm:dd:yy) Mon, Jun 15 2009
    Time (hh:mm:ss) 22:31:24
} IDE Channel 0 Master [None]

} IDE Channel 1 Master [None]
} IDE Channel 1 Slave [None]
} IDE Channel 2 Master [None]
} IDE Channel 2 Slave [None]
} IDE Channel 3 Master [None]
} IDE Channel 3 Slave [None]
    Drive A Disabled
    Floppy 3 Mode Support [Disabled]
    Halt On [All, But Keyboard]
    Base Memory 640K
    Extended Memory 1790M
Yes slip the DVD drive to 4 or 5

No you can let windows 7 search for drivers in device manager as follows:
