All I can do is suggest some forums on this one. I don't know what software is installed, or how you use it. I believe this is a software & Windows 7 error. All 3 machines couldn't be using the exact same software unless they have the exact same configuration and updates. Have you downloaded all the Windows 7 updates? Which programs were open when this happened? When I google this BSOD. The exact BSOD happen on many different configurations, motherboards, memory, GPU's, ect... Most with Windows Vista 64bit or 7 64bit OS's. Example:
Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D using win 7 64bit over and over BSOD
Also you may narrow this down with the Windows 7 event viewer. Here is where depending on your folder view options. start/control panel/system and security/administrative tools/event viewer/

I will check out the event viewer when I get home. But, I really don't think this is a windows 7 problem. I have 3 computers running this version of windows 7 64 bit. One is my work computer. It has been running windows 7 64bit for 7 months, constantly on, and never had a crash. The second computer is my wife's computer, been running windows 7 64 bit for 6 months without any problems. The only software difference is she has Civ IV loaded and plays it all the time. All 3 machines have the same version of office. All 3 machines are using MS security essentials. All 3 machines are set to download and install updates automatically. In fact, my home machine (the problem machine) has the least software on it b/c It wont run long enough for me to install everything I need. But, I do run the update windows over and over after I install windows 7 so I can get all the updates on there.

I am still stuck on this memory showing errors in memtest after a BSOD but If I shut the computer off after a BSOD and run memtest then I can run memtest without any errors. I ran memtest for over 24 hours and did not have an error. In fact, last night I did the same thing. After my BSOD and the computer rebooted, I came on here and posted real quick. Right after I restarted my computer with the memtest cd and receieved over 1900 errors in the first few minutes. After, I shut the computer down and then ran memtest overnight. This morning, after running memtest for over 7 hours I did not have any errors.

There may be a memory compatibilty problem, but I specifically asked Gigabyte via their tech support if the ram I currently have would be compatible with this specific motherboard before I purchased the motherboard. Their response was "As for the memory as long as they are non ecc un-buffered it should not be an issue". In fact, if you go to crucial's website it is listed as compatible.

The thing that frustrates me with that is I bought this motherboard because I would not have to spend another $100+ on ram. If they would have answered, "no, it is not compatible" then I would have chosen a DDR3 board and upgraded to DDR3 ram.

Yes, I know that they post their QVL list of supported ram for each motherboard. And that was the reason I asked the question to them directly and even stated it as such.

Sorry about the rant. Just frustrated. I have appreciated your help and suggestions.

I have an extra 1 gig kit (2x512) of corsair cm2x512a-6400 that I am going to try out in this system to see if it is a memory problem or not. As stated before, my BSOD problem is very random and may take as long as 2 weeks to see a BSOD. I have run everest ultimate on this system before and it never reported any errors. Does anyone know of a program that will stress the system and cause memory errors if they are present?

Noted that you use Microsoft Security Essentials on more than one PC, however problems with poor system performance with MsMpEng.exe protecting your computer are not rare. A common one seems to have something to do with MsMpEng.exe monitoring itself.

I would go with a different Security program.

Microsoft has announced and released a new beta of the free Microsoft Security Essentials.

But would this cause the problem with memtest showing errors after the bsod reboot vs. not showing errors if I shut the computer down after the bsod?

    @artdrivers

What am i looking for in the event viewer? There is the one critical event, kernel-power with event ID 41. There are 13 errors and 3 warnings the last 24 hours. The critical error log time shows 8:44:33 pm and there are not errors or warnings in the moments leading up to that. There are errors or warnings hours and days prior to that but nothing immediately.

In the event viewer you may want to open the error line and look at the source for more info to help narrow this down.. Also when running memtest86+ you should not run it on a restart due to the fact a restart does not always clear the memory. Shut the system off for about 10 seconds. Then start and run memtest86+

I am looking in the event viewer. I can see the "critical error" on 7/22/2010 at 8:44:33 pm. The "source" is kernel-power stating "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." There is an "error" right afterward at 8:44:44 pm. The "source" is an event log stating "The previous system shutdown at 8:42:45 PM on ‎7/‎22/‎2010 was unexpected."

Prior to those errors, time wise, there are no errors until 7/19/2010. There are several "atikmdag" errors and a couple "user profile service" errors. I am not sure this is telling me anything.

*update* I decided to reboot my computer since it had been several days since I had seen errors. When I did, and looked in event viewer, there were "atikmdag" errors upon bootup and "kernel event-tracing" which was said "Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D". So, I uninstalled MS security essentials and installed the ATI DRIVER ONLY for my video card (from ati). After several reboot from checking. Those errors have gone. I still don't know if those were the cause of the BSOD though.

You may need a tad more DDR3 voltage. Can you try it again with +0.3v = 2.1V and NB voltage up +0.2v.
