With my EP45-UD3P, my graphics card ran at full speed when I manually entered sleep mode. Waking from sleep caused no problems.
Using hibernate instead of sleep, my system acted normally, where the graphics fan turned off.
Later tonight, I'll test my P35-DS3L (rev: 1.0) system when entering sleep mode and waking. I'll also test hibernate mode and post my results.
My DS3L system is using the F9 bios. Both systems use EVGA 7600GT video cards and run Win W2K Pro (sp4).

Thumbs down Re: p35-ds3l help please

    My tests didn't work out.
When I manually entered STANDBY mode, my system went to sleep and my graphics card fan was off.
    My system wouldn't wake up.

    Hibernate shut down normally.
After I briefly pressed the on/off switch, I was greeted with the "resuming" message, but my screen remained blank and the HDD activity light would briefly flicker for several minutes but that was all.

Post your full settings from the bios Power Management Setup options and I'll repeat my test using your settings. I set HPET Support = Disabled because I'm running win 2000 sp4.
Are you running Vista or win7?

It sounds like your system isn't fully stable.
Does your system sometimes multi-boot when you do a cold boot?

Please follow steps 1 - 4 in this post to provide needed information.
Ignore ET6 in the screen-shot. You can include the EasyTune5 -> Overclock -> Advanced display.
Post your bios settings using the P35 bios template.

it could very much be a driver mess. i had same problem, don't remember what did it.
gpuz can export bios to file and the open with nibitor for editing.
nibitor not being able to select the card for editing directly is not a good sign, something is wrong.
