Nice to see you got the Nlite issue sorted!

Hope your new GPU is a functioning one!! Did you mark the older one to make sure you don't get the same one back?

Did they mention any testing results on your RMA submission?

Yeah now I got XP 32bit and Win 7 64bit installed 2 clean OSes for some benching

No I did not mark the one I just set back maybe I should have.

Testing results on which 5850 card first or second one or the third card I will be getting?

I can still ask them questions...

I always mark items with UV marker in a few hidden spots, did you at least write down the serial so you could check if the replacement is the same?

If you didn't I think you should be able to find it on your RMA page maybe.

I wondered if they did any testing on the one you just sent back, the one they said they already tested and it for sure worked... which it clearly did not.

I guess it wouldn't matter as they could say anything and we would never know for sure.

I just saw a XFX RMA suck thread at OCN the past day or so, maybe this is normal of their service?

It's locked, but it is about XFX GFX Card RMA's :)

No I did not mark the GPU i just sent back.

They just received the GPU today according to Fedex

I did see some other people flaming about XFX on XS's forums also.

I noticed I did speak with 2 of the people NCspecV81 had trouble with on his RMA problem. Luckily the only problem I have had so far was a defective card was set out that was supposed to be a good working one. I did tell them to make sure they double and triple check the replacement card that they will be sending me as I don't want to keep sending back defective cards the very next day and have to pay to ship it back to them.

On a good note I did get my TX-2.. Great stuff I did notice about 2-4 deg. drop in core temps idle and load. I was thinking of getting the TX-3 or the TX-4 but people were saying the TX-3 was way to thick to spread.

Well hopefully you will get a working card quickly this time around! They should overnight it to you after all this hassle!

TX-2 is great, no set in time and wait until you clean it off next time around, one swipe and it comes clean off.

I have not used the TX-3 or MX-3, due to comments like you mention, sounds terrible to me so I plan to stick with TX-2

Did you hear the same about TX-4? I haven't read anything on it yet, but if it's the same as TX-3 I'll be skipping it too, hopefully they don't stop selling TX-2

Just from what I read about on their webs site about the stuff. TX-4 supposed to be less thick then TX-3 but better in cooling then TX-2 or TX-3. Newegg not selling it yet not sure about anyone else.

Just got response back from xfx about my question/statement about double/triple checking the new card before they ship back to me.

[ 6/25/2010 12:49:06 AM] I just noticed today that the GPU i sent to your RMA dept was received this afternoon. I was wondering when you guys get around to verifying the gpu is defective can you please double check if not triple check the card that will be sent to be is indeed working.... I don`t want to have to pay to send the card back to you the next day.
[BRIAN 6/25/2010 10:36:54 PM] Hi, all replacements are tested before they are boxed up and shipped out. If the card still doesn`t work on your end, then it may be something else in the system that is the issue or maybe killing cards. We`ll keep you posted. Thanks, Brian.
[MICHAELC 6/25/2010 10:43:42 PM] We have received your recent returns ref: XCR44908. Your returns will be passed to the RMA department for testing and diagnosis. We will notify you on completion. Thank You. XFX Support Team
Is there anything thing on my end that would kill a 5850 on either P45-ud3p or the ex58-ud5 but not a gtx280?

Pci-e is set to 100 on the p45 and 101 or 102 for 215bclk on the ex58. Voltages on p45 are default for pci and same for ex58. The first card worked for like 3 or so months in the p45 except the constant blue or gray screen of death that they had problems with but not sure if that has been fix in the lastest drivers. last I used was 10.1 or 10.2

I agree with Wazza, if your board or any other hardware was killing your GFX Cards it would kill them all not just XFX ones :)

Nice to hear TX-4 is thinner than TX-3, hopefully that means it's usable. I suppose I might try it once it is available for purchase, but I bet I will come right back to TX-2, it's just so easy to work with
