Can you make changes to most bios settings that are NOT IN THE MIT section?
Your current F4 bios supports your cpu, so that shouldn't be an issue.
A Bios upgrade to the latest bios for your ver: 1.0 motherboard MIGHT fix the issue, but it's safer to try the CMOS clear first.
All the testing that I suggested can be tedious, but it's safer to try and find what the problem is by a process of elimination.
Bios flashing can be risky, even if all the proper procedures are followed.

**edit** I hit the submit button prematurely.

Please add the requested hardware information to you signature NOW, many of us are helping in many threads at the same time and it will cut down on possible errors if we can easily and quickly glance at all the information without scrolling back through the thread.

Please post the requested screen-shot in step #4, it might point us in the right direction.
It might also help if you can post a picture of the initial post screen that shows cpu speed, memory speed, bios version, etc.
If your system shows the Gigabyte logo screen, immediately press the [TAB] key to show the post details, it's the detail screen that might help us narrow down the problem.

OK, good so far, please add additional information as specified as specified in the post, such as o/s version, memory model # and link to the memory specs, hard drive setup (Raid?), etc.
The more we know about your system, the quicker we will be able to help you.

The link to my memory specs is embedded in my memory description.

    In post #10, you said that your mobo version is 1.0, there isn't a 1.2 revision for the EP45-UD3P, it's 1.0, 1.1, or 1.6.
    ACCURACY IS IMPORTANT!!

Gotta step out now for a couple of hours.

Yep, it is 1.0. Hit the wrong key. Anyway....here is the screenshot you requested. Links to all my hardware is now linked in my sig. Thanks for the tip :)

Well, I fixed it. Removed the battery for a few minutes, then put it back. Booted into Windows with one stick in slot 1....then booted into Windows with the other stick in slot 1. So I am assuming the memory is good. :)

Everything in the BIOS is now able to be changed. No idea how it came to be like...."read only"

Of course had to remove my GPU to get to the battery, since the GPU is 3 inches thick.

But yea, can change "any and all" settings now. :)

Thanks for all the help you guys have given me so far. I have never found a forum that responded as fast as this one. Thanks again.

    Let the overclocking begin.

EDIT: I also loaded Optimized Defaults and saved.

At the main bios screen, press F11 to save these new bios settings to a NEW bios profile, and call it "Manual-Defaults".
Do NOT overwrite the first saved bios profile.

Save a hard copy of all your saved bios profiles. When you flash your bios, you will need to manually recreate all your saved bios profiles.

We can't start overclocking until we know that your system is stable at stock settings.
The first thing to do is to do some basic stress testing.
Intel BurnTest (IBT)is a fairly quick stress test see if your system appears to be stable.
With your dual core cpu, set THREADS=2 and use the mazimum amount of available memory for your system. This amount will vary with how much physical memory you have and which operating system you're running.
Set LOOPS = 10 and press START.
You should have RealTemp or CoreTemp running during your stress tests.
IBT raises cpu core temperatures a lot when you are overclocking.
Always note your maximum core temperatures for each stress test and let include the temperature window in your screen-shot.
If IBT runs for 10 loops with no errors, this is a good start.
If IBT generates and error, stop testing and post a detailed screen-shot and your bios settings.

Prime95 usually needs to run for at least 6 - 12 hours or longer to ensure that your system is stable.
Because you've been using your system for quite a while, the first Prime95 Blend test can stop after 2 - 3 hours if there are no errors. If Prime95 generates an error, stop the test and post the detailed screen-shot and include the Prime95 window that will show us the specific error that failed.

Prime95 will often generate an error anywhere from several minutes to several hours after the test starts, even though your system passed IBT testing.
Click on the last line in my signature to read the Prime95 tutorial. Ask if you have any questions.

You MUST enable "Round off Checking" by clicking this entry in the ADVANCED tab before you start the test.

Ask if you have any questions.
Accuracy and details are important! Be specific if you have any problems. Don't just say "It wouldn't boot."

You can use the link in the linked-to post that details steps 1 - 4 to download testing and monitoring programs.

Once your system is stable at stock settings, we will overclock to the sun, the moon, and the stars.

    Happy testing.

Bios flashing will be done after you've completed several stress tests and are comfortable with the procedure.

    Nice work!!
Are you speechless at the results?

I forgot to mention that you can check the "output results to results.log" box to save a summary of each IBT test.
Did you noticed that the GFlops score increased when you used a higher stress level?

Right now we don't know if you accurately applied all of the suggested bios settings. If you posted your bios settings and included the screen-shot from step #4, we would have a good idea as to the settings that worked. This info would also help others who are viewing the thread. Are you currently running the Prime95 test for several hours?
If yes, you can post your bios settings and screen-shot after the test.

Are you using the stock Intel cpu heat-sink setup? Aftermarket cpu cooler?. If we knew what computer case and fan setup you have, we'd have a better idea how high your overclock can probably go.
    I know, details, details, details....

After you've completed your Prime95 test, we can o/c your system 20% to 3.0GHz, where you'll repeat the IBT test and a longer Prime95 test. Then we can go for 3.5 - 3.6GHz and probably higher.
    Sound good to you?

It looks like you've got a good cooling setup.
As long as your room temperatures aren't too high in the summer, cpu and system temperatures shouldn't be a problem with a high overclock.
