Check your cpu fan speeds at idle and while stress testing.
You can probably lower your temperatures by going into the bios, PC Health Status panel, and set:
CPU Smart FAN Control [Disabled] <-- If disabled, the CPU fan runs at full speed. (Default: Enabled)

This should lower your cpu temps somewhat until you install your new cooler.

Uhhh... did you guys notice he's still running the F1 BIOS on his board? Perhaps a BIOS update "might" help with "some" of the heat??? Though a better CPU cooler is best :)

    I don't need to tell you guys but the latest "official" release is F5 - GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS

    Just curious?

I would put all three files on the drive, but to answer the question, I believe it's the .F5 file (example X58AUD5.F5).

As to the point of why you need to update... well the F1 BIOS is the basic first release BIOS. There have been improvements since, including memory and CPU optimizations. I wouldn't use the beta BIOS' but I would at least update to the latest "official" one, but that's me.

When/if you do update make sure you "Load Optimize Defaults" (in the BIOS Setup) after updating new BIOS" After that, then you can make your personal BIOS settings. That's how I did mine.

Oh...before updating you might want to write down your settings since you just got things set up.

    Good luck.
