Tcas max is 67.9C that would put Tjunc around 75C. *at best*

How about we don't make the guy burn out his new proc. The general consensus has always been 70C or lower max load.

DO NOT THINK 80C is safe by any means.

he will be quite safe at 80-85c like i said thats the absolute max imo and always aim below 80c,after all your only stress testing and real world use wont stress the cpu at 100% the mb and cpu safety features will shut down the pc long before he does any damage due to excessive heat

according to intel you shouldnt even be overclocking but that doesnt stop you does it?

Its one thing to OC a chip and still stay below the thermal and voltage limits via the manufactures spec. But to say its ok to go a whopping 10C+ over the manufactures "safe" upper limit is reaching far.

    Prime95 max's my system at 58C
Intel Burn test max's my system at 61C
Bad Company 2 *taps 60C* at times. That ABOVE Prime95.

So if anything, run Prime95, run IBT, then figure your max system load under real world operations will most likely be between the two.

That and I wouldnt recommend 70C+ for daily use.

Anything else is personal preference but I try to adhere best I can to the manufactures thresholds. No sense dimishing your processors life over 100Mhz.

Which is why I supplied this link in a previous post : ( Intel® Core )

    Max CPU Configuration 1
    TCASE 67.9°C

It states that 67.9C Tcase is the max it should operate at ( thats the cpu temp not the core ). RealTemp or CoreTemp monitors > Tjunction < which is the "core" temp. That usually runs +6C hotter then the Tcase. So by Intels standards, don't run your i7-930 any hotter then 73.9C.
