you cant really overclock much with a stock intel cooler, maybe 3ghz 3.2ghz max,you wanna consider the thermalright ultra 120 and the prolimatech megahalem coolers too,is the ram running at 1600mhz??

^^^ if your upgrading to a samsung 1tb drive makesure you get the f3 spinpoint model not the ecogreen there much faster than the f1,i get 150mb read and write, look here for the 1tb drive Computer Supplies and PC Components from Novatech if you need any settings for 3.2ghz let me know

it will tell you the ramspeed in easytune in the pic above, mine is memory-1800mhz it will show you the actual speed, you can set your cpu voltage to the normal setting in the m.i.t section of the bios, same for your ram voltage either its 1.5v or 1.66 in the bios for 1.65 in windows,to adjust memory speed you need to set system multiplier to manual and then raise or lower the memory multiplier to give you 1600mhz speed or as close to without going over as you can as it sometimes depends on the bclk your using

1066 is the default setting that the mb set it at,just look through the bios carefully and find the 1066 ram speed then look for spd system multiplier and set to manual and then choose the ram multi number to give you 1600mhz,it will be in even numbers 6x 8x 10x 12x

    Thanks for the reply :D

Yes I did get my ram to 1600MHz but I still cant do the voltages what wazza said in an earlier post i wasnt sure so didnt want to try but any settings template would be great

Like I say I only have stock cooler so best standard settings would be great till I get a new cooler :)

Am also looking to upgrade airflow on my case Attachment 2660 one front 120mm fan, one 120mm rear fan and a 80mm on the side dont suppose you have any recommendations at a reasonable price?

One last thing if you don't mind my last system was a Q6600 on an asus PN5 board and boot up times on that are way quicker than my new system, do u have any tweaks to boost boot times, I have changed setting in msconfig to use all my cores and ram on bootup also iv set boot priority to my HDD and set quick boot in bios is there anything else I can do?

I am at work today so i wont be back till 4 o'clock teatime to reply (UK time)

Anyway your help is appreciated thanks

If you just need fans without anything fancy you should look at medium or high speed yate loons, they are pretty cheap ($4-6)

Please give me your full current settings in a template from my signature and I will advise back some optimal settings for you if you want.

MSConfig should not be changed, it wont help anything and I suggest you put that back to defaults. No there is really not anyway to speed up Gigabyte boot times, they are normally slower than others it's just something you need to get used to.
