    Yes mm67 that's right,forgot the 930 has a 22x multi not a 21x,so you need to disable Intel turbo boost to stop it adding the extra 1x multiplier

    I'm trying to reach 4.0 or 4.2 ghz stable on air with megahalems... any advice ? I'm fine with 3.8 ghz but want to try whats the maximum

    Should I up the DRAM voltage to 1.65 and run at 8-8-8-24?

    Currently on 21 x 180 = 3.8 Ghz stable with Normal VCore and 1.335 qpi/vtt

    try that for 4.2ghz,it depends on your cpu on how much cpu voltage,tell me what amount normal sets cpu voltage at in bios,i have two 920 chips and one needs 1.26v and the other needs 1.35v for 4.2ghz

    you can add extra voltage in dvid to your cpu voltage this way cpu still throttles when idle,to work out your uncore freq its twice your memory multiplier and add one to it,so 10x mem multi will be 21x uncore freq

    start with 1.35v for cpu and qpi/vtt and test from there,to work out what voltage you need in dvid look at what normal sets say 1.20000v and find out how much you need to be stable at 4.2ghz say 1.35v then subtract your normal(1.2v)from your stable (1.35v) = 0.15000v then enter +0.150000v in dvid use + to add voltage or - to take away voltage from the normal cpu voltage

    or you could skip dvid completeley and set a fixed voltage amount of 1.35v but then cpu and cpu voltage wont drop when cpu is idle,it will run at full voltage and 4.2ghz speed all the time

    Not exactly sure how to find this out tho.. How do i know what my ram multi is ? And rated speed ?

    Just referring to another thread I will try out the quick and dirty method #2 and find out the best voltage then apply dvid as you suggested

    Set your ioh and ich to 1.2, your vdimm to 1.65, your cpu pll to 1.88, and your qpi/uncore to 1.35.
    For D0 users set your vcore to 1.275 and for c0/c1 users set your vcore to 1.4 Bclk to 190/191 or 210/211 and multiplier to 21 and 19 respectively. Check for prime stability. D0s should be fine, but c0/c1 still may not make it, at this point your temps may be too high if you're not on water so I suggest you start working backward in order to hit a much lower vcore or use method 3.
    Also Should I be using Prime95 , LinX or Intel Burn Test for CPU stability?

    its much simpler than what that guide says,no real need to touch ioh/ico and cpu pll,it will be fine on auto
    your memory speed and voltage will be printed on the ram itself or the box,to adjust you memory look for spd system memory multiplier and set to manual then choose a multi 8x10x or 12x untill you see your memory speed change to what you need 1600mhz ect,then you can set uncore freq to twice what the memory multiplier is then add one to it

    in the bios or easytune/advanced/voltage1 should tell you your cpu voltage when you set it to normal, try with a fixed voltage first then once you get 4.2ghz stable you can use dvid to further reduce heat when the cpu is idling

    use prime95 and linx,linx max 10runs on high,prime95 blend test 8hours

    if you have 1600mhz ram then you will need 10x memory multiplier and 21x uncore freq

    My aim to hit 4.0 or 4.2 Ghz stable

    180 freq x 21 multiplier = 3.8 ghz @ 75 degrees load with the following. Currently cooled with Prolimatech Megahalems with ****ty fans
    1.25 vcore
    1.355 qpi/vtt
    1.64 dram

    unable to boot into bios with 21x uncore and 10x SPD memory timings as suggested so left it on Auto. No idea whats causing this, so I turn it back to Auto

    Tried 191 x 21 = 4ghz with 1.3 vcore and 1.375 qpi/vtt, was able to boot into windows but failed OCCT after few seconds

    Any advice ? Should I bump up the vcore ?

    I have a quick question about Load-line calibration. What should I set it to ? This guide suggests to enable it

    Standard - Disables Load-Line Calibration and sets VDroop following Intel Specs
    Level 1 - Enables Load-Line Calibration and slightly adjusts VDroop
    Level 2 - Enables Load-Line Calibration and moderately adjusts VDroop

    Im a bit confused with my ram settings - can someone shed some light or does it look fine ?

    The rams are supposed to run 800 mhz though as it's rated at 1600 (PC 12800)

    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ

    I changed to uncore freq to 17x and memory spd to 8x in BIOS

    Memory voltage to 1.64 in bios
    Timings manually set at 9-9-9-24 in bios
