    mine did that too,6gb in cpu-z and in windows but only 4gb in bios,its either a bios setting/voltage not right or faulty stick,you can try with 1.35000 or round abouts and see if that works

    Alright I will see what lsdmeasap has to say whether he can help me fix it or not. if not then I will rma it once I come back from vacation.

    also the settings I am using right now are optimized defaults except for
    dram voltage...1.66volts
    cpu vcore...normal
    QPI/VTT Voltage ....1.335 volts

    Still no luck. I just want confirm one thing. I go to standard cmos features in the bios and then I scroll all the way down and then I see total and extended memory and thats where it tells me the memory right. Is that the correct place to look or is there somewhere else?

    Yeap, there or in taskmanager total memory

    How much QPI/Vtt did you try? And you have tested each stick one by one correct?

    i never asked about bios,are you using latest version? or even better latest beta bios from main bios page?? it might support your ram better than current version
