    Default GA-H57M-USB will not boot

Just got a brand new GA-H57M motherboard and installed it with GSkill DDR3 1600 memory. I have a Antec EA650 650W power supply.

When push the power button the mother board the lights come on briefly, the CPU fan starts to spin and stops, then nothing. It continues to do this several times unless I disconnect the power. I have checked and double checked all is connected correctly, I've been building systems with Gigabyte motherboards for over 10 years. The motherboard does not even get going it just dies immediately.

i can only think of trying with a different brand psu, check for any bent cpu pins, could be the bios that shipped with the board doesnt support your ram yet untill bios update, you just need to go through each component to try and find whats causing it,also set the mb up outside the case just incase its shorting somewhere, are you using a chip that supports onboard graphics? if not you will need a gpu installed

Just to be clear for others with the same issue, this is NOT a bios or ram issue. The motherboard does not get that far. 1 second is not enough processing time for the bios to have issues.

I have found at least 4 other with the same complaint a couple of them have had multiple replacements of the motherboard before they got one that started to work. So it appears the solution is to immediately send the board back and get an overnight replacement for a bad board

I agree, you should test another PSU First if possible!

And before I sent anything back I would be testing with a minimal setup, on a wooden table or cardboard box OFF the motherboard tray as this can also easily be symptoms of a short.

Did you check for bent pins yet? This will also cause these issues, as can incompatible or faulty memory, incompatible as in incompatible with the board itself or the current BIOS
