Question Raid 1 after OS is installed?

    I guys,
I have a question regarding setting up Raid 1.
I have already installed an OS on my c drive, before setting up Raid 1.
Is their anyway possible for me to change my C drive to Raid 1 without having to re-install windows?

    Thanks in advance,
    Tony.

When you create the RAID array, all data will be lost on the drives. You can't rebuild an array if there never was a drive in the array.

You can enable RAID in the OS if it is Vista or Windows 7, then install the RAID drivers, then backup the system to a separate drive, and then create and restore to a new array.

If you want to do that instead of a clean install let me know and I can give you more specifics.

I am very interested, but the OS is XP Pro, can it be done with this?

The drive partitions are like this, a 1TB drive containing:
    C - 50GIG
    H - 50GIG
    M - 250GIG
    P - 100GIG
    S - 250GIG
    W - 250GIG

It would be much easier and safer for you to do a clean install since you are using XP

    Hi Lsdmeasap,
    The reinstall went smoothly thanks.
    I set up the raid-1 no problems, using 2x 1TB Sammy F3s.

However. I do seem to be suffering with occasional, and random, system freezing/crashing. (This also happened before the reinstall/raid).
Once to twice a day it happens, in varying situations such as:
    - In photoshop working on small web graphic.
    - Once when playing good old COD2 online.
    - Twice when left on over night running Torrent client.
    - Other times include using iTunes and playing SWF movies.
This rig, as seen in my sig, is only a few weeks old.
I am hoping it is down to memory settings,
as all others (including system) are set at defaults,
apart from the memory voltage which is set at 1.35v.
Memtest shows the sticks as fine, HDs have been thoroughly checked too.
Not sure what else to do to locate the issue...
    Any ideas?

Nice to hear all went well with the install and RAID Creations!

How long did you memtest the ram, and what Memtest are you using, memtest or Memtest86+ and what version?

Please get a template from my signature and give us your full BIOS settings you are using, you may just need some adjustments is all.
