Board is here, no CPU yet though.

I'll keep you posted once I know when a 1156 CPU will be around.

and the second error message :- These are Microsoft devices so I don't think they are related to your hardware. As already mentioned WAN Miniport (IKEv2) and WAN Miniport (SSTP) install automatically using the non-signed inf files netavpna.inf and netsstpa.inf. If you can't install WAN Miniport (L2TP) copy C:\Windows\inf\netrasa.inf to C:\Temp\WAN Miniport (L2TP)\netl2tpa.inf and then using the other files as a guide, strip out all the unrelated stuff. You should end up with something like this:

I have the GA-H55M-USB3 Rev 1.0 board with windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded the latest drivers from Gigabytes website and get the same problem with "PCI Simple Communications Controller". It can't find a driver. I do not have any WAN miniport L2TP device. Just a "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller", that driver loaded fine.

I am guessing that the PCI Simple Comm Controller problem is preventing me from installing a USB-Parallel port converter (since the converter works fine on an HP Laptop with the same fresh install of Win 7 64-bit). I get an unknown/nonworking device on the H55 motherboard. The HP Laptop finds the drivers and automatically loads them.

Hey found something on another forum that worked for my PCI Simple Communications Controller driver. (Will have to check when I get home about the USB-Parallel adapter).

It's Intel drivers for the H55 based mother boards. I simply downloaded this, ran the installation and no more unknown device 'PCI Simple Communications Controller'.

    Here it is:

Desktop Boards*Intel® ME: Management Engine Driver for Intel 5 Series Chipset-Based Desktop Boards

Perhaps it will help you with your WAN L2TP miniport device driver?

Sysmg was correct, it is part of the above linked driver package that you need to correct this.

Sorry it took me so long to test, kept forgetting!

Here is the exact driver you need in case you do not want to install the full above linked package (I Didn't, just this driver via device manager - update driver/browse to folder)
