Default Problem using SATA 3 and SLI on GA-X58A-UD7

I have GA-X58A-UD7 rev. 1 with two Nvidia 480 GTX in SLI. When I connect my two SATA 3 drives (Caviar Black 1 TB) to the SATA 3 ports on the board, the drives show in BIOS but will not format in Windows 7 64. If I have them already formatted, they literally disappear from Windows when I try to transfer large files (small files work fine).

The UD7 is advertised to allow SATA 3, USB 3 and SLI to all function together. I have read other places that because the UD7 puts all three through the same pipe, if you use SLI, you can't use SATA 3. This seems almost too ridiculous to believe, because it would defeat the purpose of having these features.

If Gigabyte is out there and would like to answer, I would like the truth. If there is some setting in the BIOS in am missing, I would like to know that as well.

i know that this is true for p55 boards,if you have two cards in sli/crossfire then they get reduced to 8x speed if you have usb3 or sata3 enabled,i dont know if its the same for x58 boards though, are you using the latest bios and sata3/usb3 drivers?

This is not a SLI issue, this is due to the Marvell controller/driver being crap I believe.

Since you have no issues with small files you should kinda see what I mean, right? It's ok as long as you do not load the controller heavily right?

I see the same when trying to super bench on it, or with RAID (Crap!)
