    Default display does not turn back on from rest in GA-X58A-UD3R v2.0

    Dear lsdmeasap,
    i hope you can help me with this problem.
    my specs:
    mobo - ga-x58a-ud3r
    procie - i7 930
    ram - G Skill F3-10666CL7-2GBPK G.SKILL-Products
    psu - silverstone 1000w st1000-nv
    video card - palit gtx480
    processor cooler - corsair h50 water cooling kit
    OS- win7 ultimate updated.

    the problem is that when the display shuts off or goes to rest, it does not turn back on by any mouse movement, or keyboard action.
    i have to press control+alt+delete and press cancel in order to get back to the desktop, but even this action (the desktop returning back) is random. almost always, i have to resort to resetting it.
    also, after browsing for sometime using internet explorer, the system locks up and i cannot even bring up task manager except after waiting for quite sometime. i have check for malware and there is none.

    my bios settings as per your form:

    CPU = Model # intel i7 930
    Motherboard = Model, Revision # ga-x58a-ud3r v.2.0
    BIOS Version = FA
    Ram = G Skill F3-10666CL7-2GBPK (G.SKILL-Products)

    Are you talking about S3 sleep, or just your monitor going to sleep?

    If it's just your monitor it could be a few things, such as your GFX Card itself, the Monitor itself, Drivers for either, or something off in your power settings.

    Are you using the latest Chipset drivers, and the latest GFX Drivers?

    It could be a BIOS issue, but if you are referring to your monitor and not the actual system via S3 sleep then it is probably one of the above mentioned things

    I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am having an issue resuming from S3 sleep. No video and no keyboard or mouse, but system fans etc come on.

    X58A-UD3R Rev 1.0 with F5 BIOS.
    Intel Core i7 930
    6GB of OCZ RAM
    ATI Radeon 5850

    BIOS settings have been reset to default, no OC.

    I know this may not solve your problem, but I have gotten sleep to work pretty reliably now. Bear in mind I'm not doing any OC or anything.

    I went to Gigabyte's website and downloaded the latest drivers for the UD3R. Network Driver, Intel Chipset Driver, and the sound driver. I rebooted and now it seems to be pretty stable. (Again, this is for Windows 7.)

    I have *not* moved to the latest beta BIOS. I'm still on the F5 release. I don't know how much I like the sound of running a beta BIOS...

    Beta BIOS is fine, it's ALL I ever use - I only install "Final" ones if someone asks me to test something. The beta's are always the best and most up to date with corrected issues and new features, ect, they are fine to use.

    Glad you got your S3 issues sorted though!
