Does it matter what I set BCLK to? I mean, default is 133, so am I looking for trouble if I set it to say 200? Will I need to adjust any voltage just because of this?

Also: The QPI has a multiplier of its own. By default, the CPU is running at 2.93GHz and QPI at double that value, 5.86GHz. I am unsure what to aim for. Is there any default/standard frequency? Or does it simply depend on the CPU? I don't understand this too well.

Then: PCH is left at auto as suggested. QPI/Vtt is important, I will eventually raise it (default 1.050, currently sitting at 1.150). There is one more voltage, PLL. Does it matter at all, or shall it work well enough on auto as well?

I also disabled the bloody hyper-threading, which is one of the most useless things on relatively low-end CPU, hoping it will allow for higher OC. Anything over 3.5GHz on default VCORE will be perfectly enough. But I am thinking 32nm CPU should give interesting results after all!

Yes you will need to adjust voltages for 200 Bclk, Vcore and QPI/Vtt mainly. Keep an eye on your memory speeds too as you may need to lower or raise the memory multi.

For 200 Bclk, depending on CPU multi, you may need 1.25-1.4 Vcore and 1.24-1.35 or so QPI/Vtt

Keep QPI under 8Gt/s, so use x24 ir x36 for 200 Bclk

PLL may need a small bump past default at 200 Bclk, as may PCH, but both may be fine at stock/auto too.

You can leave HT on, you wont be pushing past a point where having it off would be needed really unless you are on water and or extreme cooling and going for super massive clocks. It wont hold you back at all at only 200 Bclk

Hmm I would like to find such BCLK frequency which wouldn't push me into raising VCORE. Btw I couldn't find any information about default value, so I manually set 1.19V which is what BIOS showed me on auto settings.
Is there at least very rough estimate about highest range of BCLK frequency which doesn't need any additional voltage elsewhere?

As for HT, I will leave it off at least for stability testing purposes. For some reason I believe it's better for Prime95 to run just one thread per core :)

hyperthreading comes in usefull though, lots of games support it and good for video editing, see how much faster winrar opens files with multithreading on and selected in winrar, you shouldnt need to alter anything else other than bclk, cpu voltage(ive read not to use alot with 32nm chips)you should set it to normal, qpi voltage around 1.8-1.2v and i would try with 180bclk first, you might need to raise cpu voltage to 1.2-1.25v for 4ghz,set dram voltage to spec everything else in bios can be left on auto

Ok I will try to keep BCLK a bit under 200, probably in a way which would let me run the memory a bit above the specs.
I am googling like mad and still can't find what the default VCORE for 530 is! Same goes for QPI. I can't seem to find any information about its frequencies and how it works, perhaps how it should be.

the normal voltage setting in bios should set it to stock,as for qpi/vtt it will tell you it in easytune/tuner/advanced/voltage1...you should only need between 1.5-1.2v for qpi

You will have to tinker and test until you find what Bclk you can use with keeping stock (manually set or Normal) voltages, it all depends on your CPU

So far I pulled off few hours of Prime95 with BCLK of 170. Looks like default VCORE is 1.16V, although I thought it was less.

Overclocking aside - is it normal that i3 system feels kinda "unresponsive"? Compared to P45 on my table, this one looks like easily choking, with slower disk operations etc. I really don't know what to expect, because i3 is the cheap CPU, but is also much newer architecture and MIGHT be supposed to be faster than C2D. Maybe I'm dreaming :D

they suppossed to be faster than c2d,even faster than q6600 quads, are you using turbo boost and multithreading? you should run with those without any issue, running ram at spec speed and timings? updated all the intel inf drivers from website?

Everything is up to date. I do not use HT because I see no point in it on this pc. I might switch it back on when I am done with testing though.
Turbo boost is not present on i3 afaik.
