    well it was worth a try,i would ask lsmeasap's advice before rma though if he gets online in time,seemslike its a driver or maybe faulty sata controller if voltages had no affect

    One "Oddity" is if you change the ICH SATA Control Mode {from RAID (XHD)} to IDE everything works fine'ish. Meaning, it won't just Shut Down, but the RAID realy isn't functioning, but the Drives still showup as "paired" from the Intel Matrix BIOS (Ctrl-I) pairing...

    i dont think your supposed to switch from raid to ide as it will install the ide drivers? or is that just for raid0? have you tried installing latest raid/intel storage manager?

    I HAD no choice but to "LOAD FAILSAFE" to get the data off the drives for RMA.

    The RAID is 1, here's the tree. Also, the the Intel is loaded in the tree under "Storage controllers". If this is "the problem" how should I fix???

    Disk Drives
    SSD and RAID
    Driver = 6.1.7600.16385 ~ 6/21/2006
    Storage controllers
    Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/5 Series/3400 Series SATA RAID Controller
    Driver = 9.6.0.1014 ~ 3/3/2010

    Yes, the driver were loaded properly. BTW - I uninstalled the RAID under Disk Drives, and restarted twice with the BIOS properly set in the RAID (XHD) set ~ hoping to reintall the correct driver.

    I didn't allow the Intel Rapid Storage time to repair and ran the ATTO benchmark; what happened in a slow shut-down by first killing Windows Explorer...

    Yep I used your internal "email" private message.

    However, new turn of events. You mentioned that the IDE could be messed up {reinstalled}. Apparently so. I fixed 1/2 of the problem, but not the other part with Marvell {see image}. There's a before & after, and I "assume" Marvell doesn't require "Standard Dual Channel PCI..." - the portion in RED was after I uninstalled + reinstalled "Standard Dual Channel PCI...". I downloaded and installed both x64 versions of the Marvell installers {Marvell Console Driver (SATA3) + Marvell RAID Utility (SATA3)}

    yes it will install ide drivers if u set it to ide from raid i think so its best keep it on raid in the bios,do the marvell controllers have seperate drivers too?? did you re-install those aswell??
