I did enter settings manually, no XMP and system does boot, no BSOD, but I'm back to 4GB of memory.

EDIT: Changed memory multiplier to x12 (=1600), VTT to 1,3V, RAM to 1,62V, and set timings 8-8-8-24.
Everest, CPUZ an others say that timings are 9-9-9-24 1T no matter what I set in BIOS.

EDIT2: OK, this situation is for BIOS Fb4, and official FA.
Fb10 gives me 6GB immediately, but if don't use XMP, I get BSOD every time when I log on.
Fb9 gives me Recovering lost DRAM size message and endless reboots until it once does past by this and then boots into Windows.

I'm starting to regret buying Gigabyte board...

ts probably not enough qpi/vtt voltage what does xmp set that too?? 1.3000v might not be enough it was only a starting point, thats why its showing 4gb aswell

XMP doesn't affect VTT at all.
Why would my CPU require >1,3v VTT, and Core voltage 1,268v for 2,66GHz when I saw people hitting 4GHz with 1,2v? Damn...

it depends on your cpu, some need more some need less,is that on auto? 1.268v? too much voltage will cause crashes too

After all, i flashed it back to official FA and now it seems stable. I have to use XMP profile if I want all 6GB of RAM.

Ok, if this is solid starting point (hope so), how should I overclock it now? I have to try overclocking now, because today is the last day when I can return memory back and switch it for something else if this is not going to work...

BTW thank you guys very much. You've been all very helpful and I thank you for that.

Ya it's due to all CPU's being different, you can't think of things like that.

Your CPU may need 1.3-1.4+ for 1600Mhz and xx uncore speeds, that is all it is it sounds like, since you are seeing 6GB more often now I think your pins are fine and you need find the right settings is all.

As for setting your setting manually as you mentioned from the XMP profile, you aren't changing the advanced ones too are you? If so don't, leave those on auto as there are a few that are tied together and must be set a certain way according to some rules, so best to leave those on auto.

What BSOD codes were you getting anyway, some do indicate easily noticeable changes are needed:

BSOD Error codes and what they mean:
0X00000050 << Incorrect Memory Timing/Freq or Uncore Multi
    0X00000124 << Incorrect QPI/Vtt Voltage (To Much/Not Enough)
0X00000101 << Not enough Vcore Voltage
0X00000109 << Not enough or too Much memory voltage

I suggest the latest BIOS for sure, not the one you are using now. And I suggest against XMP, you wont need it once you find the right settings and it shouldn't be used anyway if you plan to overclock your CPU.

These would be ideal at stock with XMP disabled, and once you find the right QPI/Vtt you will see 6GB. And you might just want to jump into an overclock, sometimes that's much easier to get stable than stock believe it or not.

Wow you were right! I flashed Fb10 again and didn't bother with stock speeds. I set bclk at 191, CPU x19 = 3,629GHz, Turbo off, C1 etc is all enabled. CPU voltage is 1,25V, VTT 1,3, RAM 1,6V.
RAM multi is x9 = 1528MHz, set 8-8-8-24, XMP off.
Only thing that is different now is QPI PLL which is 1,2V (instead of 1,1V) and IOH core 1,14V (1,1V).
System is OCCT (both OCCT and Linnpack) stable. Min temp is 38'C, and Linnfield heats it up to 78'C.

I don't need to say that 6GB are recognized at all time. I still can't believe it. Thank you very very much, especially Lsdmeasap and wazza300.

Nice to see you are getting somewhere now!

You still may need more QPI/Vtt, keep that in mind if you start seeing 124 BSOD's.

I use QPI PLL 1.2 always anyway, that is fine

So to be sure You have 6GB now right? Hope so
