Well, at my last fail, I went into the BIOS and didn't bump the VCORE up, instead bumped the QPI/VTT to 1.2.

    Ran again, and failed.

So I bumped QPI/VTT to 1.3. Ran again, failed.

So, back to the default QPI/VTT, and like before, I upped the CPU VCORE one notch again.

    This time, pass.

So, this is what it took to get 4.37. BTW: This is the multiplier that the AUTO voltage went crazy on for QPI/VTT.

It has taken a LOT of CPU vcore bumps to go from 4.3 to 4.37

wow.... I think maybe I just got a good chip because for 4.4ghz this is mine.

OK, 4.433 has passed with only a couple more vcore bumps.

Temps are getting into the worrisome range, at peak.

I'm going to see about another bclk bump, since I know that I won't actually run the machine at 100% load for any real-world use, since the box is a gaming box, and as you know, almost nothing hits across all the cores to any super heavy load, and even on the core it may load, it's for no more than a couple of seconds during normal gameplay.

    Feedback?

your temps are hot. You will not notice much of a difference from 4.2ghz to 4.4ghz. so I would bump down. You already ahead of many with 6 cores so if I were you I wouldn't risk that expensive chip without proper cooling. I can go up to 4.7 and only hit 83c and still I don't like being there. These chips might not like heat over time. This is something you must decide on your own.

Also remember you still must test with full memory in prime or intel burn 20+ passes so that might heat up processor for atleast 2 hours in intel or over night in prime.

OK, I'm going to fall back to 4.37 and see how things look. If the 20-times Intel won't pass, rather than go up in Volts, I'll fall back to 4.30 and see what I can do there.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I am upgrading my push/pull fans on my H50 radiator for a couple with higher RPMs, so that will help a bit, too.

OK, here is my final for the night. Fell back to 4.3 and had to bump the voltage a bit over the 5-pass to get a 20-pass.

I watched it throughout its run, and the max on a couple of cores was for no more than 2 seconds or so, so I think I can live with these temps. At least the voltage is still in the 1.3x range.

Tomorrow I will explore some more.

Any initial comments on the task ahead, of getting my 2000 Mhz RAM up to speed?

Oh, and an initial comment on Prime95 (which I am running for a bit, just to see the temps). It's hardly got it into the 70s at 100% load on a couple of cores. Man, what is that Intel burn-in doing that pushes so hard, I wonder?

If you upgraded to a 2x120MM rad (240), then you would have much lower temps.

First, feedback on the above 4.3.

As you see above, it will pass 20x tests on the Intel High Burn-In. However, when I fire up PRIME95 and run its tests, after the first set completes (5 test, I think), and it goes to the 2nd set, I bluescreen with a 101...... Very surprising. More CPU needed, even though the Intel 20x passes? Oh, and it's temps are a good bit lower than the Intel during the run, so it's not a temp issue.

    Input, please.

Hey, guys. I have a couple of concerns that I would like feedback on

Before I came here, I had a decent but not aggressive OC of 4.0 Ghz, and my memory at 2000 9,9,9, 25 1T, with this OC ratio / voltage of BCLK 200, Multi of 20. The only thing I set was vcore of 1.38 and dram v of 1.64. I set the basic memory timings using QUICK, but everything else in the BIOS, all other options, voltages, and even SPD were left on AUTO.

The system seems to run great, and seems stable.

But today, I went back to that BIOS template, and looked at it again, using the tools I've been using to try and get the new OC. What concerns me is, look at the AUTO QPI/VTT that the BIOS is using:

But what concerns me more is, look at my Everest results.

I went ahead and set some memory ratios with the 4.3, to get my RAM up to 1946.

    4.0 Ghz Everest - 20x200 - 2000 Mhz RAM

    4.3 Ghz Everest - 31x139 - 1946 Mhz RAM

The memory on the 4.0 completely blows away the 4.3, and more than I would think for a minor 54Mhz difference.

But more surprising, the 4.0 CPU beats the 4.3 CPU, too, on some of the tests.

First, what about that AUTO QPI/VTT voltage the 4.0 BIOS set.

    Secondly, comments on the benchmarks?
