Default Flaky ethernet connection on GA-P55A-UD3P

Overall, I'm very pleased with my GA-P55A-UD3P. However occasionally, the ethernet connection will fail - typically on wake up from S3 sleep. Needless to say, losing my internet connection is a serious problem. Windows 7 diagnostics indicate the cable is disconnected. My Linux partition also can't see the network. Other machines on the network are fine.

Surprisingly, a cold boot (almost always) fixes the problem but a warm restart doesn't.

Flaky hardware or flaky driver? Any suggestions? I'm using Realtek LAN driver 7.018.

    Thanks for any help.

thats old driver, try with this one and right click it and run as admin before you install it

if that doesnt help then try flashing to the latest bios even a beta bios might help if not you can flash back

I'm on the current BIOS (F11). I just updated to the newer driver. We'll see.... Thanks for the response.

Did you disable Keep DMI Data when you flashed? If not please clear your CMOS now for a bit, then load optimized and reboot back to the BIOS and re-enter all your settings.

S3 sleep may or may not be corrected in your BIOS, is that the only issue you have with it, and the only time your LAN Fails? If so then it might not be fully fixed yet is all.

I re-flashed to F13 with "Keep DMI Data" disabled. Thanks for the tip.

I also see this on warm reboot - so I don't think it's just an S3 sleep issue. Furthermore, using the "SMART LAN" in the BIOS leads me to believe this is an issue at the motherboard or ethernet device level (I don't recall exactly what I saw - I'll take better notes next time). I wonder if the "Green LAN" functionality is half-baked.

Since this doesn't happen very often, it may be a while before it happens again - hopefully never...

If you see it on warm reboots that sounds driver related.

Let us know how your testing goes with the new flash with DMI rebuilt. I would disabled Green LAN in the BIOS

No change. I have always disabled Green LAN.

After warm boot in the BIOS I see "SMART LAN" reporting Length = 0m for all "Parts" - after cold boot the length is given as less than 10m.

Either flaky hardware or firmware is my guess.
