Vcore was set to 1.3v in the bios, core 3 failed in prime95 64bit, going to get ibt/linx to test.

    i'm running 400fsb/1333 @ 6-7-6-14 as a stable 24/7 settings.

so 3 in one hit.. hehe do i get a cookie?

Try 5-7-5-20 tRD 7 possibly 6. Select 1333 XMP if you have ut and leave advanced timings on auto.
Why what was wrong with 4GHz for 24/7?

4ghz wasn't stable .. i was lucky to run the 3dmark test it froze not long after

ran ibt on what i hope to use as 24/7 for now

Stabilize it then, nova4005 has a similar setup stable at 4GHz overclocking Giagbyte ep45t-DS3R and Q9550?.

Results look ok for 3.4GHz, next time run with 3GB or max stress level.

    tRAS should be >> tRAS=tCL + tRCD + 2

So if you are trying less than that now, as you mentioned in the above settings, that could be part of the problem

well tried to mix settings with nova's to get 4ghz stable but it had me too scared to put that many volts in vcore, so i have opted to go with this for a daily setting ... 448fsb @ 3.8ghz, 6-7-6-14 @ 1490 ish
i tried to drop voltages on vcore, mch and cpu term but all would fail at ibt, going 5-7-5-20 on the ram would take over 200ms in ibt and half the gflops ( whatever that means ) so below are current settings, still unsure if there is something i'm missing

While in VID range you should be safe. Temps very cool for IBT, and GFlops look reasonable for 3.8GHz..
The timings 5-7-5-20 were for DDR-1333 only, can you post screen capture of MemSet SPD window?
Increase CPU PLL one notch, it helps at high frequency, 1.55-1.59v is ok.

Did you try 6-7-6-15 (Proper minimal setting for 6-7-6 timings), it might improve something somewhere for you.

As for lower timings, did you try 666-15/18.

Also you can set 1T, and while it will still appear to be 2T in windows, you should be able to benchmark same settings at 1T/2T and see the differences.

LOL you sir are the devil, I was going to leave it but now I have to give it a go

0= auto so what would 1,2,3 be under command rate in the bios?

ok i grew a set and upped the vcore to see if i could get 4ghz stable.......

the only changes to the above 3.8ghz settings were

    vcore :- 1.36
    cpu term:- 1.28
    pll:- 1.59
    mch:- 1.28
    ram settings:- auto

    and the results....

    thanks you guys rock :)
