Default GA-EP45-UD3R v1.1 Not wanting to post?

While my computer was on, without thinking of what I was doing, I plugged my DVD into the esata. Power first, than sata cable. Every thing was fine for some time. I tried to read a disk and the disk was not recognized, no error message, it was as the DVD was empty. Checked the Device manager and the DVD was not detected, but I could see it as "E:" in "my computer". So I shut down the PC using Windows. While the PC was shutting down I got a BSOD screen and it restarted, but when it restarted I did not get an initial post beep with the screen prompting, it just continued to run. All 'Phase Lights' on the MB, located above memory, stay on while the MB runs without beep or prompt.

I'm able to hold the Power button to shutdown the PC when it continues to run without prompt. Once off I flick the PSU to off. While the PSU is off I hit the power switch several times to drain the caps. After that I bridged the CLEAR_CMOS, turned on the PSU & PC on and again it would not beep, post or prompt.

I than fully disconnected all of the HDD's, VGA was taken out of the PCIe socket, NIC removed and I removed the memory on slot DDR2_3, DDR2_1 remains. Plugged in the USB keyboard and mouse, made sure the CPU power and MB power was connected. Bridged the CLEAR_CMOS again, flicked the PSU to on and pushed the power on the case. Still the PC would run, but would not beep or prompt.

PSU off, I again cycled the power to drain the caps, switched the two memory modules and bridged CLEAR_CMOS. PSU on, CPU and MB power connected, no other components. Pushed the power button PC comes on but does not beep or prompt.

Could I have fried the MB by plugging in the DVD to esata while the power was on? Thing is, it did not BSOD until I went to shut down the PC, but I was not able to read the error that caused the BSOD.

I think I can RMA this board. Anyone have suggestions on a route to take to try and get the board to post? Should I see if it will post without memory and CPU in sockets?

Any and all suggestion are very appreciated.. Thanks for taking your time to read this!

    Update.

Took the system battery out and let the system sit for a while. Came back and powered up the pc with just CPU and memory connected, CPU & MB power connected, plus water pump. PC beeped and prompt. So I shut it down and connected the VGA, prompted again. Connected both HDD's, prompt. Finally connected the DVD and it prompts and boots. Writing from it now!

It was 93f in my room today, no a/c. This all happened when I got home during the hottest part of the day and decided to plug in the DVD. It must have been exhaustion that caused me to jump the gun and confused my system to were it started screaming at me. I took out the part that told the system why it was screaming at me and now everything is fine!

    Thanks for reading!
