Default Is it possible to view ALL messages when brosing a thread _

    Hi,

No matter that 1 or 500 messages in a thread, but is it possible to view them on one page without paging through them?

Would be much easier to follow up a big thread.

    Thanks,
    Pubem

Yes, you can kind of, but it would have to be that way for all threads.

You can set it to 40 posts per page, instead of the default 10, that would help a bit.

Go here, then in the thread display options change # of posts per page to 40

"Printable" version would show you all posts I believe, but you could not reply that way - but you could read like that if you wanted (Per thread)

I use 40 posts per page with FireFox.
Changing to Show Printable Version (in Thread Tools) did NOT show more than 40 posts.

    Ahh thanks for checking!

40 posts per page would be better than 10. I'll see if I can increase the options, what would be ideal 50 or 100?

    Hi LSDME,

Thats good news ! The idea was initiated by GA-X58A-UD7 - * Official Thread *

There is 186 post right now. And the most important on this kind of big threads, so 500 would be safely enough. (or simply show ALL messages)
(is it putting too much work for server or it's only a theoretical limit?)

Thanks for this kind of support again ! :-)

Yes, I'have tried but max is 40 here too.

It does put more load on the server to load all the posts at once, plus 100+ Posts would kill people on dial up if there was many images to load at once.

186 posts is not very much, what's wrong with viewing by page?

40 is the current user selectable max per page

    Hi,

Nothing wrong, but the really long threads would be better to see at once. Like official ud7 thread.
But ok, I understand that the server would be very busy. Maybe setting only for one case would be ideal.
You could set max 40 by default, but for one instance you could browse the full thread if wanted, but I think it's not possible from server side.
