They'd tested it with an Athlon X2 955 (which I can't find for the life of me) the new guy just didn't change the email I got sent. Has anyone tried the slot closest to the CPU with some low-speed RAM? Cause I brought a GA-880GMA-UD2H and almost threw it out the window. It wouldn't boot. But, after some stuffing around, it would boot, only if the RAM was in the first two slots.

read your manual,it will tell you the correct slots for the amount of modules you want to use,it wont boot up if its installed in the wrong slots

So, it turns out that it may be a combination of my CPU and my RAM killing any useful troubleshooting. My first CPU and my kit of RAM are dead. so, RA's all round. but my motherboard seems to be fine.

    exactly how do you know?

I tested, new CPU, new RAM, diferent video card, everything unpluged

    that only leaves the MB

Cause my new CPU works in my new Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H, but only if I use different RAM (I had a spare 2GB stick). With my new CPU and new Motherboard, but the old Black Edition RAM, it doesn't POST. And my old CPU had a broken pin, so it was dead.

Hhmmmmm. I've tested my MB (UD5) with new cpu and new RAM and it didn't work, but the thing here is that I tested the cpu (1055T) that was on the UD5 MB on my old MB and didn't work either, so what is it?, could the "dead" 1055T killed my old MB?, all that I've always hear is that a bad cpu can't kill the MB, but doesn't seems that way

I wouldn't think a bad CPU would kill a board, but I guess it's possible that if it was shorted out or something it could overvolt or short some of the other onboard chips causing the board to fail.
