Default GA P55 USB3 Onboard LAN problem (Not detecting)

After a long fight trying to get the OS (win 7 x64) to install (bad windows cd's, discs, etc) everything works fine... except the Onboard LAN.

Windows doesn't even detect it in the Device manager. No network adapter.. nothing.

When i first noticed it, i just thought maybe it was the drivers just being weird.. updating drivers with an install might detect something within windows and fix it.. but i get this error:

"The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode enabled Please Plug the Cable"

    ????

I have the Onboard LAN enabled, green lan turned off, and ROM turned off. Nothing.

looking up with the search option on this site and the net, one similar situation was with this guy

didn't help me either, i figure it has to be a short in the onboard LAN. the Ethernet doesn't even blink or anything during start up. :(

I figure if there is no hope, i have to get a 3rd party network card... hopefully that will fix this problem.

Have you cleared the CMOS or updated the BIOS? If not, and you haven't had any luck yet, you may want to start with clearing the CMOS and then loading optimized defaults.

In the second post here is how to clear CMOS if you are not sure, and things you need to do afterward.

In the BIOS on the MAIN screen if you press F9 for info, do you see MAC Addressed listed for the LAN's?
