Default Intel Rapid Storage Technology @ BIOS and Win 7

Downloaded and installed the new version 9.6.0.1014 from intel.

How come at BIOS ("Ctrl+I" to open the RAID configuration) it is still showing the previous version 9.5.0.1037. On the other hand, I can see it is 9.6.0.1014 at the Device Manager.

Are you trying to update the INTEL raid ROM? (Crtl+I) or the drivers?

If its the ROM your trying to update that's part of the motherboard Bios. You would have to edit the bios and the old rom out and put the new one and then re flash your motherboards bios with the new modified one.

Device manager will should you driver version.

Please do not use @Bios..... Always use Q-flash or flash the bios in dos. To many things can go wrong when flashing in windows.

I updated to this version from the older version that had been running for a while:

    updated version:
    *Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology

Now the device manager shows the updated version but not from the BIOS ("POST" & "CTRL+I"). POST and BIOS still showing the older version.

So should I re-flesh the latest BIOS again? Thanks.

they are just drivers for windows and that's all that is needed.

Intel will release the next stable rom to gigabyte and they will release a bios update with it in there.

Google is all I can say I have never done this or modded any bios. Someone who has might be able to chime in or post some links for you.

How come Gigabyte has not updated the Intel rom/driver to 9.6.0.1014 (dated 3-23-2010 from Intel) for GA-P55A-UD6?

Latest one from Gigabyte still is 9.5.0.1037 (dated 3-3-2010).

Gigabyte does not update every ROM when a new one is out, sometimes various versions cause various issues or conflicts with other hardware or certain configurations.

If you have an updated ROM you can easily test it if you want, you will have to accept the fact that you may VOID your warranty, then google how to change BIOS RAID ROM. (Sorry we can't help with this as you can brick your board if you do it wrong)

Also, if you search the BIOS thread we have a few users who often update the BIOSes with newer ROM's after each release, so you may find the BIOS you want with a new ROM already inserted

    Thanks Lsdmeasap , I understand.

It seems that it is a complicated process. If someone has the latest ep45 ud3r bios with an updated rom please pm me.

Do you have the .ROM you want added into your BIOS?

If you do, send me a PM with the ROM and the BIOS you want updated
