Set all volts to auto except RAM ( 1.66-1.98) and QPI-VTT to 1.375v CPU to 1.3875 v then play with the BCLK with a 21 mutiplier till you are happy with a stable overclock, leave LLC at standard
Ok so i gotta do those setting and just play with BCLK?do you have any program to contact you?

this should do for 4.0 Ghz but again yoo do not need it for games and I have HT on but you may want that off
Load Optimized defaults ( in fact you should have done this for all overclocks)

all settings as before BCLK 191

SPD 8 will give slightly lower MEM speed but it is OK
enter your rated timings or try 9-9-9-24
    CPU 1.375
    QPI-VTT 1.355
    CPU PLL auto
in fact all on auto except
    RAM 1.66-1.68

    LLC Standard
    I7 930 4.2 Ghz || Gigabyte X58A-UD3R REV 1 || 12 GB Corsair 1600 RAM ||650 W Corsair PSU || Noctua NH-D14 || Nvidia 8800 GT

i didnt know you had 12gb of ram, with 12gb you will need alot more qpi/vtt voltage

for cpu voltage try around 1.23000v

qpi/vtt can be anything from 1.35000v-1.40000v+ with 12gb

I have given you settings for a 4 Ghz overclock for an I7 930 with 12 GB RaM on a x58a-ud3R board, have you tried them. I don't know what else you want 1.375 CPU volts will vdroop a lot lower in windows and under load. Try it, test it. lower settings. test gain till you are happy and stable

try 1.23000v for cpu voltage without dvid, set dvid to normal and set qpi/vtt anywhere from 1.35000 to 1.40000v,theres no exact setting you will need to test and adjust things untill its stable, use settings in either post from me or paul but try with voltages above and adjust them if it fails by adding one click on each cpu and qpi and retest

Agreed, only a small percentage of CPU's can do 4Ghz or better with lower voltages, the rest all need 1.3-1.4+

its probably down to 12gb of ram vs 6gb of ram,im stable with 1.23v@4.2ghz 10 passes of intel burn test on high,on normal it uses 1.18750v yours uses 1.22500? i think, there all different i just thought you might be able to run at that voltage, but 1.3v is fine
