So you are using the DDR-800 kit, did you buy it or borrow it?
Maybe you don't need as much vcore, temps look fine for Prime95.
CPU Reference can be left auto untill and if you need to change it.
You can try and set Static tRead Value 7 or even 6 for both channel A dn B for a bit better memory performance. This may require DRAM Voltage 1.9v, and MCH Core 1.15-1.2v.
Compare memory performance before and after changes with MaxxMEM² - PreView or Everest Memory and Cache benchmark.

Well it's fine i don't plan to use this E6400 anymore, gonna sell it right after i get a stable system with the Q9300.

This DDR2-800 RAM kit is here for this week as a borrow but I payed for it, so if I decide to stick with these i just phone the shop and thats it.

So just a few more hours till i can get my hands on a new Q9300, can't wait to see if it was the root of all my problems...

EDIT: ah screw 'em, i just had a phonecall from the shop, they want to test the CPU before i get a replace, so it's another 2-3 days... :(

I am sure that even now untuned your system "feels" more resonsive and will have better graphic performance as well.
IMO you could squeez another year or two from the E6400 and save for something new.

Yeah it feels better, but the only problem is i can't get my money back on the Q9300... so either i turn it in for a test at the shop, hoping i can get a replacement, or i sell it for less money.

But i tried everything i could to test other parts of my computer for fails or malfunction. And it all comes down to this: when i put in the old E6400, everything works fine even with this overclock (I'm pretty sure i could go much higher than FSB 333) and when i install the new Q9300 the system hangs with blue screen (except when i downgrade it to run at FSB 266). So after a week of testing and buying new ram kit i'm just gonna give this back to the shop for testing and if they say it's fine, i'm gonna kick them in the arse! ;)

So, since they wanted to test your old one before giving you a new one, and now you have a new one, does that mean they found the old one to be faulty?

Good luck with the test setup!

To tell you the truth I really don't know... I had too much work on my hands I didn't have time to bring back the 'faulty' Q9300. So when i had 2-3 free hours i went straight to the guy and he gave me a new one right away. It may be because they were on holiday for a few weeks or i dunno, maybe i just got lucky... so now the cpu is in, starting Prime95... wish me luck!

Ahh well that's even better, now you should for sure have a working CPU anyway!

    Good luck with the testing!

Thanks, i've passed 1.5 hours of testing so the system seems stable!

The good thing is that i left the Vcore voltage at auto for now, and according to everest and cpuz it works around 1.18 V (default 333 FSB) so i may set the voltage to the VID: 1.2375 and try to increase the fsb until it's completly stable (maybe around 366 or even more...). I don't want to set the voltage any higher than this...

Well-well now! This CPU looks quite the opposite to the previous faulty one. I set the Vcore voltage to the default vid (1.2375 V) and not it runs great at FSB 400 * 7.5 = 3.00Ghz! It's not even warmer (45-60 celsius). And since my new ram kit is ddr2 800 (currently: 400 / 2.00B if i'm correct) the cpu/dram is 1:1.

But it's really strange i get lower memory test result via Everest, why is that? (I get higher at CPU 2.5Ghz (333 * 7.5) RAM: auto)
