Interesting read. I'm still unclear as to how to use the prime95 test as far as making adjustments if needed. the test i ran said pass on all aspects but is that enough? if so great if not what do i need to adjust. That's basically the questions i have now which is more out of learning than trying to set the cpu on fire.

If you are passing OCCT then you are probably stable, using prime for 12-24 hours is up to you.

I just posted that so you would know what all the different tests of prime do, how to use each one to test different things, and how to use each to gauge what is failing.

I never use Prime myself, so that's why I linked it instead, so I can't really explain it :) Even when I do use it I only use Blend.

I just mainly use LinX, Memtest86+, and HCI Memtest

since i'm mainly interested in the memory i guess i shold be using memtest but it's nice to know how the whole system is performing. so far so good. it seems the settings i was given worked perfectly. that's good since i'm not familia with these settings

No. Memtest don't put enough stress on memory and it is not desined for stress testing but to fund defective memory.

HCI Memtest within windows will stress the ram much better than Memtest86+, use multiple instances with 600-800MB in each one

i downloaded Memtest and will run it later. I also downloaded PC Wizard 2010 and am looking at that. What's the best use for the pc wizard tool?
