I don't think P35 has channel settings, just global Static tRead Value.

You'll need to manually set tRD = 5 if the bios defaulted to a higher value.
My P35-DS3L has only one tRD setting that covers both memory channels.
ok that makes sense. i'd do that in the memset tool right?

It's best if you make all your changes in the bios, not Memset.
We gotta help protect you from yourself.

You can test it with memset, to make settings permanent you will have to set it in BIOS.

If you're going to make changes in Memset, I've heard (but not confirmed) that it's OK to use the Apply tab, but you shouldn't use the Save tab.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still think it's safer to make changes in the bios and possibly get a boot loop, rather than using Memset in windows and possibly corrupt windows.

that's a good point. i think the bios is the better way to go also.

For someone new to overclocking, this is the procedure that I would use:
    1. Make changes in bios.
    2. Save settings and boot using a MemTest86+ floppy or CD/DVD.
    3. Run one full Memtest86+ test loop (about 20 - 25 minutes).
    4. Boot into windows if MemTest86+ was error free.
    5. Run 10 loops** of Intel BurnTest[ (IBT) or LinX (about 20 - 25 minutes).
    6. If there are no errors, run Prime95 Blend test for 8 - 12 hours or longer.
** Use the maximum amount of memory possible.
With IBT and a dual core cpu, set Threads = 2
