    Default EP45-UD3Rv1.1(f12) - E8400co/6 - KHX8500D2K2/4G, looking for highest mutiplier at 1:1

    Messed up the title?

    Earlier today I decided to change the clocks to see how far I could push my e8400 at a 1:1 FSB:DRAM divider. I've had my e8400 stable at 4050MHz~vcore1.3750/VTT1.3200 for some time now thanks to this board-Thank you guys very much-, but that was at a 2.4D, 5:6 divider, taking the CPU and memory out of sync.

    This is just experimenting to see how far I raise the CPU multiplier with a FSB of 533 and a 1.375vcore that was keeping the 9*450~1.3750vcore/VTT1.320 stable.

    So far, I was able to successfully boot and finish this thread with the below settings-

    Vcore1.3750. When I raise the multiplier to 7, * 533 = 3731. it boots into W7x64, but I get a device error stating, "device is not attached" and my resolution is at 1280x860. So I count that a non-successful boot! At 6 * 533(Vcore1.3750) = 3200Mhz, it boots fine with above settings. I guess now to check it with LinX and see if it passes 20.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but to have a successful boot at 7*533 I'll need to up the vcore. There are only two or three bumps to 1.4vcore. I want to avoid that high of a voltage because my machine is on a lot. Even though it's on water cooling I just like being cautious.

    It took me roughly 20 minutes to write this thread. My temps are still sys 33c, Core0 33c & Core1 33c.

    Leaving VTT auto at such high FSB may not be a good idea, check ET6 voltage tab for target value.
    It is very likely you will need to tweak CPU and MCH refernces, quite surprisingly you didn't have to at 450MHz FSB. Is it Prime95 and for how long stable?
    Clock skews may also need tweaking, as well as VTT and MCH Core.

    P95 14 hours stable till I decided that was long enough! All I do is play games, watch movies and listen to audio.

    EDIT: Just failed LinX at 6min, 40sec.

    Back to the BIOS board. I'll put my VTT back to within .05 of 1.3750, making the VTT 1.32. I read through a link I was provided from this board that VTT should not go higher than .07 below vcore, and no lower than .05 below vcore.

    Going to check ET6.. Brb!

    1.6v VTT, you definatly want to lower that, max safe voltage according to intel is 1.45v I think.

    3200MHz, 1:1 settings-

    I thought your VTT was supposed to be lower than your Vcore? That VTT is on Auto anyways, so it need to be set.

    I set the VTT to 1.32. That's .055 volts less than vcore and got a BSOD on boot. I then tried 1.28VTT and the system would not even post. So I should try 1.3VTT with CPURefv on "Auto" and see if it prompts or boots? ... brb!

    Better boot into memtest86+ before you attempt to boot into windows.
    You can try higher VTT but most likely that the references have to be tweked.

    While leaving the CPURefv and MCHRefv on 'Auto', I tried VTT 1.28, 1.30 & 1.32. All gave a BSOD on booting into windows.

    I can boot and write this post at 6*533 with the above settings(VTT Auto), while doing a bunch of other things(audio, streams of family guy). So how would you tweak the settings? What voltages would you adjust in what direction to try and get the OC stable? System idle at 33c, room temp 21c.

    Is it ok to have a VTT higher voltage then the vcore?

    And remember, these are my BIOS voltages on Auto, except for Vcore1.3750, MCH1.30, PLL1.57, DRAMv2.2

    It's ok to have VTT higher than voltage though it may not be nesessary. Auto set it to 1.6v and that's way too high.
    Try adding MCH Core 1.3-1.32v, and more VTT. It is quite a leap from 450 to 533, if you take it with smaller steps even if not 100% stable it may be easier to know what is needed.

    check this out for oclocking/benching a water cooled dual on the board type.
    Its quite old but still relevant.
    early benching

    Hi fsb is fine but usually your cpu speed 1,then fsb if the memory can take it ,then memory speed and timings for somewhere between 9-11gb/s memory bandwidth.
    Do u have the water cooling running on other component heatsinks?
    Ive never used water cooling so ..no experience of settings.
    If you dont set vTT and pll they will go very high at high fsb on auto. 1.7v+ and 1.8v+ I seem to remember up around 500(2000fsb)
