    PSU: Corsair HX650W
    Optical Drive: Sony AD-5240S-0B

makesure the 24pin is plugged into the mb,and either a 4 pin or 8 pin up near the cpu socket from the psu, then maksure the 4 or 6 pin or two 4 pin if it needs them are plugged into your graphics card(all these wires are from psu with the amount of pins in the block connectors) make sure you have the ram plugged into the right slots read your manual it will tell you the right ones for 2 sticks of ram, usually the white slots only but that mb may be different

    hi there.
    thanks for the quick reply.
ok as i said i'm newb in computer literature, so let me explain from the user manual motherboard layout: i have ATX plugged in, atx_12V_2x4 plugged in, F_USB2 F_USB1 plugged in, in sata2 i have plugged in my hd and optical drive they both connected to the blue colour sata's and white one is unused. my ram is connected to the first blue and the second blue and i think thats about it.

right,i think your ram should be in the white sockets not blue, press down the two levers top and bottom of the ram and plug them in the WHITE slots, push firmly untill both the levers click down, and then try

Nice to see you got this sorted!!

Be sure you tell you friend who set this up for you that he needs to check manuals for which slots memory should be installed into each time he builds a system, as these are always different with various boards.

That way he wont mess up any other future builds for people :)
