whats your rams rated speed and timings??? go into the bios and set ram speed according to your ram and then select quick and type in the timings command rate 1T,then put your qpi/vtt voltage at 1.3000v, set your dram voltage according to ram either 1.66v for 1.648 in windows or 1.5v if its corsair ram

theres no reason why your ram shouldnt run at its rated speed/timings

xmp isnt going to be as accurate or as reliable as manually setting up the ram and like auto will always overvolt, and 1.4v for a few weeks wont hurt anything, id set qpi/vtt to 1.3000v its a good safe/stable setting and wont damage anything, ive had mine set to that for a year and a half now and hardly ever turn pc off

Like wazza said, set your timmings manually, according to your GSkill part model it is 8-8-8-24 2T and leave all other timmings @ Auto.
Are you running your system @ stock? just want to set your ram to 1600MHz?
Make sure to set the memory multiplier @ 12x if you are running all at stock and put the correct timmings. Set dram voltage to 1.60v (according to GSkill specification) and QPI/VTT 1.3000v (you can try lower it later)

Hey guys, sorry to bump an old thread, but I've got a similar problem with a similar board.

    Namely, the GA-X58A-UD3R.

    Other Specs are as follows:

    2x 4gb Kingston DDR3
ATI 5570 (temporary though. Upgrading to a 6870 when I can)
    750w Antec TP PSU

However, I cannot seem to get it to boot currently. I just get the supposed overvolt reading, with no fans turning. Strange thing is, it was working for a while last night.

Just to confirm, its the central 2 lights on the DDR LEDs, One Green, One Orange.

Sorry If I sound noobish, this is the first PC I've built. Everything else seems fine though.

If you let the system sit for a few minutes or hours will the system boot long enough to get into the bios? Do the fans ever spin up? Have you tried reseating the heatsink and or reapply thermal compound. What heatsink are you using?

Just the stock Intel Heatsink. It still is doing the same since last night. The fans don't spin anymore. When it just started with the DDR LED the fans and the CPU cooler did spin for a second before shutting off, with the DDR led lit up.

    Exclamation GA-EX-58-UD5 LED information

I have a similar LED illumination Situation on my EX58-UD5

The CPU voltage LEDs are lit as follows -Stage (1) GREEN (2) YELLOW

The OC level LEDS are 3 BLUE lit

The Northbridge (MCH) and the DDR Voltage LEDs read (1) GREEN lit on each

My CPU voltage is at 1.3125v
    QPI/Vtt voltage is 1.15v
    DDR Voltage is at 1.5v

My Boot Status/ error Code LED readout is : FF (Fully Functional )

I assume the Voltage on the CPU is indicating the low increase in voltage @ 1.3
and since my rig is OC the two Green LEDs on the NB and DDR3 are just indicating what I already know is going on. A bit more juice to power the boost. As well the 3 blue OC lights tell me as well.

I have no problems and my rig is FAST loads Win 7 Zip quick and gaming and apps (3D and Digital Illus-Video-Photoshop Cs5, etc.) is funny how fast the perfomance and how nice the quality is.

SO I think these are OK. I have been assuming that after really reading the LED meanings in the manual and having such great performance that I need not mess with my settings. Is this true or are those indicators showing a problem that will cause early failure or problems later. I hopes FF meant I was Good to GO. True? I think So.
