    Default X48T-DQ6 with QX9650 .help

Im running this MB from a month or so. Im very please but I have some issues. I have OC with an FSB of 425x9= 3.825. RAM Corsair 2x 4 GB at 1.8 v DDR3 on bios and set manual 9-9-9-24. Multiplier 4D. and running at 1700. The Vcore =1.30 . MCH core in set in "normal" and FSB overvoltage also in Normal. I pass Prime 95 ok, but some times when I switch on my pc, the bios reverst or go back to stock situation. The RAM pass Memetest for hrs. with 0 errors. I must change may be the MCH core or FSB overvoltage? . What are the defaults voltages on this board? The Bios do not indicates nothing at all. any help with this QX will be very apreciated. Sorry for my horrible english.

Both FSB and MCH can use more voltage, try +0.05v to +0.15v FSB Over Voltage and +0.1v to +0.2v MCH OverVoltage.
Can you post a screen capture of MemSet main and CPD(click spd) windows?

Ok Chike, I have step the MCh Core up +0.025 v and FSB overvoltage 0.15 for the moment and will see what happens. I read somewhere the default MCH voltages is 1.45 and the FSB is 1.10 but Im not quite sure. If that is true it means now I have 1.475 MCH and 1.25 FSB. My idea is go t0 450 FSB x8.5=3.800 and RAM 1.800.( if this Corsair RAM is capable of that).

    Search using:
    X48T-DQ6 anandtech
and check out their review and overclock settings for your mobo.

You can verify the default X48 mobo voltages from Intel's X48 technical documents at Intel® X48 Express Chipset - Technical Documents.

I have run many tests. Well, I have it stable on Linx, I have reduced the FSB to 400. I keep the same V.core of 1.300. Now the MCH core must run in the step 0.150, that means the voltage is 1.45 (default) +0.150=1.60 v. ( it,s no too much ??? ) less than this voltage the Linx show error. The FSB overvoltage is in the step 0.20, means 1.10(default)+0.20= 1.30. With this values Linx is stable, BTW the RAM runs at 1600 ( x 4D) with 1.8v. Im afraid tu run with 1.6 v NB, but is the only way to run 400 FSB with 1600 RAM. Its safe this voltage for normal use 24/7 ?? I have air cooling . My finger can stay all my life in the top of the NB cooler, its very coold, but Im feeling nervous with 1.6 NB voltage. BTW no way to get 425 FSB with 1,70V NB and 1.35 FSB and 1600 RAM. NO way. Only was possible if I reduce the RAM multiplier to 2.66. that means 425x2.66 D= 1120. So, Im really confused

    MCH default voltage is 1.25v (Table 23, page 228 in data sheet) + 0.15 = 1.4v (Just 0.025v above absolute max )
VTT default is 1.1v/1.2v depend on the processor and with your I believe it is 1.2v.
Try pressing Alt+F1 at main BIOS screen and see if it adds GTLREF options in M.I.T those may help stabilizing your OC with lower VTT.
What is actual Vcore at idle and under load?

Many Thanks Chike now I understand much much better everything and that explains why the NB cooler is so could beacouse my NB voltage is 1.40 and not 1.60. BTW my Vcore in CPU-Z is 1.280 Idle and changes under load to 1.264/1240. Away from that I must accept I dont have any little idea how to adjust the GTLREF.

I used to run this chip with a 9.5 mult (on a non-Gigabyte mobo however) clocked at 3.8. I had to run the vcore at 1.36 volts (as seen in CPU-Z) So, to me, your vcore looks low.

You may get more consistent results (and a lower idle temp ultimately) if you disable vdroop (maybe its load line calibration 1 on this board I'm not sure). That is why you see the voltages fluctuating, a normal behavior though.

I wouldn't touch GTLREF at this point. That's usually one of the last things that should be adjusted.

My P43 gets pretty hot even at 1.2v 400MHz FSB, could be the massive HS and heatpipes of the X48 but I'd make sure it seated properly.
LLC (Load Line Calibration) may help using less Vcore. Disputed feature, decide for yourself if you want to use it or not.

I been using a EP45C_DS3R for one or two years with the same QX-9650 with 450 FSB and only 1.35 NB voltage and 1.3 FSB., wit the same set of RAM. I can,t understand about this fancy X48T-DQ6 needs all this voltages about 1.4 or so and even with them I cant reach 425 stable. It will be probably the X48 with DDR3. but I can,t belive Im not capable to reach a stable 425 FSB even with ( assuming now the default MCH core is 1.25), 1,5 volts.. or more . How much wiill probably needs this MB to run ok at this relatibly low FSB???? it,s amaizing, beacouse I don,t thing I gonna putt 1.6 or more MCH core. No way.or keep my RAM,s at 533 just only to keep a stable 425, beacouse I dont know another way to get that , Im quite disspointed wh¡t this mobo, I been feeling much better with my old and poor EP45C-DS3R
