Default [Solved] New built system keeps freezing ... need help !

hi guys, I desperately need your help / advise....

I recently built a system with below spec:

    i5-760
    Gigabyte p55-UD3L
    2x 2GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1600
    Asus ENGTX460 Top
    Crossair HX850
Seagate 500GB 7200rpm (from old system)
    Window 7 Pro 64-bit

Problem I had now is the system just get freeze at random time ....

e.g. half way playing Starcraft II the graphic freeze, but the background sound still on ...
in Windows, opening up browser or CPUID - it gets freeze .....
booting up bios ..... it gets freeze ....
half way in bios setting ... it gets freeze ...
what's good in this morning ... it gets freeze on Windows "welcome" screen ... can't even load in to windows

I have changed my HDD, DVD-rom, PSU (it was silverston 500W - as i thought it was under powered etc) - and change from Windows XP to Windows 7.
    the problem still occur.
I had previous installed the stupid EasyTune6 - and I got to know from the forum this tool may crash your system for OC ... therefore I had uninstall it ...

I already had reset my system to manufacture standard where multiplier 21x and blck to 133 which gives 2.80MHz ....

Also I noted that in CPUID or PC Wizard .... my multiplier reading sometimes can go down to 9x and gives 1190MHz ....

then I got adjust the power plan from Windows 7 from Balanced to Full ....

the reading from CPUID goes up to mutiplier 25x and ~3380MHz .......

not sure why the multiplier numbers goes up and down its own when I only set 21x from Bios....

I'm totally noob ... can you guys please help / advise...

    thank you

to stay at a constant 2.80ghz then you have to disable c1e in advanced cpu features in the bios, its not that that causing the freezes so i would leave it,did you set dram voltage to ram spec? either 1.5v or 1.66v,set qpi/vtt voltage to 1.2000v and then try

cpu will reduce speed and voltage when its idle but not at load, this is normal

    Hi,

    1. Had got a few tests yesterday ....
    2. Firstly, I test one ram at a time on each slot ... I ran a burning test on each time - all good and no errors.
    3. Then put back 2 rams and ran the window mem test - pass 2 tests - no error.
    4. I have also ran a cpu burning test ... for about 15 mins - no errors and temperature is <55c ....
    5. My comp was working great for the first 4 hours - as I ran random burning test - it was still ok.
    6. Then I played a couple round of Starcraft II ... it was great as well ... no problem...

    7. Until late night - I wanted to watch some RMVB via Real SP .... then it freeze again ...
    8. After that, the wave of freezing begans ....

below is my bios setting ...do you guys think a) power source B) or any other problems can be affected ?
Can you guys please help me look at what I have done wrong ....

    Thank you thank you

dram should be set to 1.66 if its rated at 1.65v,you could add a little more cpu voltage by adding +0.070000v to dvid

Thanks wazza .... but if I select 1.66v the option is in red wording ... is that ok ?

the max it goes is 1.64 (which is not in red wording) ... anything beyond 1.64v is in red...

As I heard from other forums saying we rarely wanted to select those numbers in red ...

    is that correct ?

its quite safe and normal to use 1.66 for all ram rated at 1.65v,in windows it will use 1.648v,ive had my ram running at that voltage for two years now,i know its in pink but it wont use 1.66v it will use 1.648v

^^^ set to 1.66v in bios=1.648v actual use

i dont know, could be not enough dram voltage or cpu or qpi/vtt voltage,i dont think its gpu

just set dram to 1.66v and add a little extra voltage to cpu with dvid +0.070000v and re-test,keep cpu voltage on normal setting and qpi/vtt on 1.2100v

Is your System 100% stable at stock settings? Its highly recommended that you run some sort of stress test to say the system is stable.

In your screen shoot you edited the photo and wrote in 800mv and 900mv.. What are they set to? if they are not set to that you have to load optimized defaults and start over.

Usually if the computer just freezes is usually not enough vcore can be qpi/vtt also but must likely vcore.

Set Turbo mode To Enable not auto.
Set Load-Line Calibration to Enable. Auto could kick it in and out.
Until you get stable I would not use DVID voltage.. Try setting vcore to a set value. The number in the left column next to vcore is default vcore needed (I say needed loosely) at that given Cpu multi. If you use DVDI you have to set Vcore to Normal and then set Dvid + or - xxxx amount of voltage. Auto is no good. If you dont want to add or take away any voltage then normal have to set DVID to +0.00000

    Try turning off XMP profile.

I don't know what pch core is i would set that to default voltage not auto.

AUTO = BAD. AUTO will Over shoot voltage or allow the voltage to change or the setting to turn on and off when not needed/wanted to.

If you get BSOD codes look at my sig for error and correction.
