Default Found an app that brings K-series Turbo Boost adjustment to Gigabyte MB's

Real Temp 3.60 has been released.

Real Temp 3.60 allows Gigabyte MB's to have some of the flexibility of Asus boards. Now we can adjust the level of Turbo Boost. Here is a description.

It's real easy to do. I now have my board booting with a BCLK of 134MHz. Vcore is set to Auto. Vtt is 1.19v, PLL is 1.88v, and PCH is 1.12v. LLC, HT, C1E, C-states and EIST are all enabled. I increased the Turbo Boost on all four cores to 30x. Now the computer idles at 1200MHz (9x) and on load goes to 4020MHz (30x). Screenshots here.

    Well worth checking out.

Stasio keeps the first page fully updated.

Problem with Vcore on auto is it can way overvolt.

Can this be run with easytune also running? I presume if I fool with settings in Realtemp ET will override them at the next boot so ultimately I would have to drop ET.

I have found that ET6 is not accurately reporting cpu clocks with this app running. It does report the same voltages that other apps are reporting, however. And alas, I can't use ET6 to nudge my bclk with Real Temp 3.60 running this way.

I wish the Gigabyte software writers would put this capacity into ET6 now that unclewebb has shown it can be done. I wish Gigabyte would change its BIOS to include adjustments that take advantage of the unlocked Turbo Boost and unlocked memory multipliers. I got a very off-putting reply when I asked on their support site, though.

Changing multipliers on the fly the way RealTemp does involves changing a few values in a single register within the CPU. It's not rocket science. I didn't even have access to the full documentation the way the Gigabyte engineers do. Totally negligent of Gigabyte for not including this feature in their software so users can take advantage of K series CPUs.

That makes it even more frustrating.

I wish I could adjust the memory multiplier, since it is also unlocked on this chip. 1334 x 14 would be 1876, well within the capacity of my DDR3-2000 Ripjaws.

I guess I'd have to get an Asus board for that.
