    sheldo1: x2+1, yes, could be.
Wazza300: Ah, my only excuse is I'm relatively new to this mobo, not long off my X48. Thanks for that. I'll have a play around with it later today..

EDIT: For my 4.2GHz OC - works a treat 3C off at idle with 1.07v

hi guys when i went home for lunch i thought id have some overclocking fun, i entered in teh template wazza gave me on page 10 asides the memory x 10 and uncore x21 booted up fine however when posting it said 24x165 3.960ghz, i checked bios which had 23x so i entered it in manually again saved and restarted and it again said 24x165 3.96ghz, so i loaded into windows checked real temps, idle temp was 39,38,40,38, cpu id further confirmed the 24x165 and also easy tuner 6, seems weird the computer goes to 24x when the bios is set at 23x , i tried to run a prime95 however i got a bsod both times however the codes were not of what salty has displayed at the bottom of his post on page 11. bsod codes by memory were 59 and 159 i think i wrote them down at home n will have to check. todays temperature where i am is approx 27 degrees celsius.

when prime 95 started temps were 63,62,64,63.

question where do i find the nb temp?

Turbo boost is taking affect and pushing your multiplier to 24x. Don't worry about it.

    NB: In HWMonitor as TMPIN2

Not familiar with those error codes.

Uncore is 2x memory multi or +1 or +2. You can push it as high as you like and feel confertable pushing qpi/vtt voltage. Anything lower then 2x memory multi will not allow the system to boot.

Some have found their system more stable sticking to 2x or only +1 or only +2 all depends.

This will also increase performance that you can see or decrease if you lower it.

My sig has the known bsod codes. in my experience any other code is must likely vcore or qpi/vtt. If its memory related then qpi/vtt.

just turn off intel turbo boost to stop it going to 24x,probably why its blue screening because its clocking higher than you want to,or keep at 24x and add more qpi/vtt voltage and cpu voltage, but add cpu voltage through dvid

Hi sheldo1, have you tried the settings I listed in post #94? With the exception of the LLC being "Normal" instead of "Disabled" (Cut'n paste forgot to change it) everything else is posted correct. I know every board & chip can be different but it'd be interesting to see if you have as much success as I have. Just make sure you have good air flow around the NB.

@ Lsdmeasap, I know I haven't posted much across the different forums you post on but I wanted to say thanks for everything you do. You are a wealth of info for the community and the fact that you even follow up with the less experienced is a testament to you character! THANK YOU SIR!!!

    You too Wazza ;)

hey guys, re attempted the 3.8ghz 2nite, turned off turbo, it posted at 3.79ghz, ran prime95 after 15mins bsod, however b4 that had happened i noticed that a few workers had stopped working in prime95 said there was n error i assume this was a leadup to teh bsod??

the bsod code was 101 so more vcore i had it set to normal aswellas teh dvid aswell so may tweak the dvid slightly after i play some games for abit (restored to normal settings).

anit77 just wanna get 3.8ghz sorted 1st then ill try you setup or pending what mood im in i may just try yours see how it goes lol

wazza n lsdmeasa[ i agree with anit77's comments your help and information is much appreciated.
