Hopefully you loaded "optimised defaults" in bios and rebooted into bios before adjusting settings. Also Bios FC1 update available. GA-X58A-UD3R (2.x) - FC1 1T works fine.

I have just bought same board, and unlike previous x48 build, have had no trouble at all. Roof must be about to fall in.

i just said 2t to be sure you were stable, you can change to 1t if you want as it will run the timings faster

with the 8-8-8-24 2t setup, only having 1 green led on cpu and one green led on the ram, i ran 5 passes of memtest86+ all error free, i changed over to 1t after that and havnt had a chance to run memtest86+ yet,

yeah i loaded the optimised defualt 1st saved then rebooted and loaded the memory settings in then saved rebooted again, tho when i changed it to 1t the computer did hang at the winows login when loading windows before the password sign in screen for abit, which seemed abit suss, but computer ran well while playing some games, no bsod's so i was happy,

just a noisy ass corsair h70, so i installed the fan reducing capacitors that dropped rpm from 1950 to 1550rpm which made a big difference in noise, anyone know what the go is with these coolers as the pump runs at max 1400rpm, from what ive seen, just want to know how the radiator works with its cooling and 2 associated fans, meaning what rpm do they have to run so that there is always cool liquid going over the cpu.

download coretemp and monitor temps, adjust rpm of fans or pump accordingly,if you have both fans running of the cpu/fan header then in easytune under smart, you can adjust the speed of the fans,if its still hanging at windows screen you might need one click more qpi/vtt voltage

i read with these corsair fans that they werent able to be controlled/throttled, i have coretemp installed and have been monitoring it, the pump is plugged into teh cpu fan header i have the 2 fans seperatly plugged into the mobo one in the pwr fan header the other the sys1 header, as i read that 2 120mm fans shouldnt be plugged into the same header as the header's werent deigned for the power consupmtion. i have disabled the smart fan so that the pump fan will run full throttle as suggested my corsair.

i will up the qpi to the next click when i get home if it hangs again after kickin it over, what is the maximum value that i dont want to go past for the qpi/vtt ?

ahh i forgot the pump connects to the cpu fan header, your best way is to pick up a cheapo fan controller, they work great no need for a bigname brand but up to you, this is the one i use and works great

3.5" Bay Panel w/ 4PC Cooling Fan Speed Controller LED on eBay (end time 07-Oct-10 19:57:01 BST)

intel says 1.35v for qpi/vtt but thats at stock cpu clocks, you can use 1.4+ but for that cpu speed you should only need around 1.3-1.34v imo

What fans come with the cooler, do you know the amp spec?

The onboard headers can handle 3 amps, so if both your fans are less than that combined you will be fine

ok so after loading optimized defaults restarting and loading memory timings with 1t, i upped the qpi to 1.335 ran 4 passes of memtest sweet as and no hang before login, so im happy, will let teh system run for awhile before i look at some overclocking, aswell as doing some more research

lsd im not sure on teh ampage of the fans will have to look it up, but at the moment all is running well and i dont need those fan headers for anything else at this stage

    cheers guys
