    I have no idea about the H70 but but according to Corsair it's much better than the H50 which is not bad by itself... you will know soon enough.

    What about the memory?
    What crucial type is it ,ballistix?
    6-6-6-18 seems very loose for 800mhz
    is 2.0v at 6-6-6-18 for 800mhz the recommended setting?

    Have you tried the memory above 400 cpu ref(1600 fsb)

    I used to run these settings until 2 weeks ago

    775 quads and duals at hi fsb on ep-45 ud3

    now I use 8gb ram with 2 sticks of 667 rated memory and the best speed I can get on those is 800mhz
    @ 400 cpu ref.5-5-5-15 pl 9 (turbo) using 2.18v for the memory

    my other 2 sticks would run at 4-4-4-12 at 1.9v at that speed ,but no biggie ,all 4 are happy at 800.


    If you are going to keep working off 400 cpu ref (1600 fsb)

    test your memory at 410 cpu ref (1640 fsb). reduce the cpu multiplier obviously.
    run memtest on it make sure its stable ,ie no errors at 410 .If you do have to up the dram voltage slightly to remove errors then leave that voltage on.
    Then drop down to 400 cpu ref and keep the slightly higher dram voltage.
    That way you should remove any doubts about memory.

    Of course the other way to go is along the lines of what Chilke uses ,higher fsb and memory speed for the same cpu speed(using a lower cpu multiplier)

    4ghz cpu at 440cpu ref (1760 fsb) and 880mhz ddr2 ahould give you more performance than the same cpu speed on 1600 fsb

    ok i made some changes to my hardware:
    New CPU : E8400
    New Rams: 2x2048MB Corsair domintator 1066ddr2 5-5-5-15 2.1v
    Cooler: Corsair hydro h50 with 2xNoctua P12 Fans running in push pull configuration
    My ambient temps atm are arround 25celcius
    I managed to get a 24/7 stable to 4.25ghz (8.5x500) (68celcius after 1h intelburntest, 45celcius after 24h prime95 blend test) vcore @ 1.34v (llc disabled)
    Atm im trying to hit 4.5ghz (9x500) The system seems stable but fails prime after 8hours my temps are : intelburntest after 1h 78celcius and prime95 53celcius
    Here are the settings im using atm for 4.5ghz and need to finetune to get 4.5ghz stable

    Can you post the settings for 4.25GHz also?
    Which test fails (FFT size)?
    Why the high DRAM Voltage when it's rated only 2.1v?
    Try a bit more PLL 1.57-1.59v.

    Its exactly same config for 4.25 stable but 1.34vcore :)

    Seems to be stable atm @ 4.5ghz Passed 1h intelburntest at maximum settings with vcore 1.470 bios - 1.39 full load) Atm running Prime95 so far passed 2hours with no errors.

    Nice to see you getting some stability.

    Now for better performance lower your tRD (Static tRead Value) to 9 for both channels, after that you may need to retweak things again but it will peform much better.

    If you have issues with tRD 9 I'd try more Vtt (CPU term.) to start with

    Sorry, I didn't notice you were at 500 FSB, still though at 1000Mhz ram you should be able to use 9-10 at least.

    What is your MCH Ref when Vtt is at 1.20?
